Two actors. Fifteen characters. One rip-roaring comedy!

Physical comedy, sparkling wit and just a touch of chaos!

Venture across the Irish Sea to County Kerry this Spring, and follow the filming of a Hollywood epic in a small village in rural Ireland. With just two actors switching from plucky Irish extra to know-it-all American movie star with a flick of the wrist, the pair take on all 15 characters to tell the story of the impact this movie has on their local community.

Hello, from the Creative Communities team at The New Wolsey Theatre! Creative Communities is the New Wolsey Theatre’s programme of performances, projects and support for young people, local communities and the education sector. We had such a great success with our ‘Theatre in Education’ tour last year, when we took a professional production to more than 70 schools, that this spring we’re excited to be touring again with Hare and Tortoise. This playful adaptation of Aesop’s fable by the award winning Brendan Murray, will be seen by over 2,500 primary school children across Suffolk, supporting learning and introducing young audiences to the joy of live theatre. On the 25 May, our free mini festival The Big Afternoon returns with a packed programme of performances and familyfriendly activities from a range of local community groups and regional artists. It promises to be a brilliant event, for everyone in Ipswich, so please bring your family and friends and we look forward to seeing you there.

SEATING PLAN & SEASON TICKETS

Across the rest of the season, we will continue to support our partners to present their activities in our community hub NW2, and we’re delighted to announce a new collaboration with the NHS that will use arts and culture to boost the health and wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable members of our local community. And that’s not all! We’ll be launching Youth Perform, a new opportunity for local schools and colleges to perform on our main stage, and delivering our seven Youth Theatres, including our new Young Company for creative young people aged 16 to 21. There’s a lot going on and we hope you’ll come and get involved! Tony Casement Head of Creative Communities Contact Creative Communities: 01473 295930 creativecommunities@wolseytheatre.co.uk
