PARSONS SUMMER INTENSIVES PARSONS NEW YORK SUMMER INTENSIVE STUDIES Parsons’ world-class intensives are offered on campus in New York. Study alongside expert faculty to deepen your knowledge of art and design while earning three college credits. Our fully immersive courses are tailored to high schoolers preparing to apply for college and feature skill-building project-based learning, art and design field trips, guest speakers from industry, and portfolio reviews. PARSONS PARIS SUMMER INTENSIVE STUDIES IN BARCELONA Get a glimpse of the art and design college experience and explore creative careers through an immersive course taught in English. Because the Olympics are taking place in Paris in July 2024, Parsons Paris will host its pre-college summer program in Barcelona, Spain. Pre-college students will benefit from Parsons Paris’ outstanding pedagogy in a city offering many cultural, historical, and touristic opportunities. Classes will be held a few steps away from the beach, in Poblenou, a center of design and technology. On-Campus Session

PARSONS SUMMER ACADEMY Parsons Summer Academy offers a variety of dynamic noncredit art and design courses for students in grades 3 through 12. Join us for two weeks in August at our Greenwich Village campus to explore art and design through hands-on projects that develop your creative thinking skills, techniques, and collaborative abilities. Or focus on creating a specialized fine art or design portfolio. Courses for students in grades 9 through 12 count toward the Parsons Academy Certificate program. Courses include Fashion Design, Drawing and Painting, Illustration, Portfolio Development, and more. MUSIC WITH MANNES PREP MUSIC AT MANNES: GRADES 3–5 Music at Mannes provides young pianists and instrumental students with an opportunity to enhance their skills and expand their musical interests. Each morning, students engage in interactive music and movement classes. They hone their ensemble skills in daily rehearsals and develop their vocal abilities in our afternoon choral program. This immersive two-week experience culminates in performances in the recital halls of Mannes School of Music. On-Campus Sessions

MANNES PREP SMALL ENSEMBLE INTENSIVE: GRADES 8–12 The Mannes Prep Small Ensemble Intensive offers an immersive musical experience that fosters growth and creativity in young musicians. Guided by our renowned Mannes Prep faculty, participants engage in intensive rehearsals, honing their ensemble skills and deepening their musical understanding. Our innovative curriculum includes morning courses in creation and performance in which students explore the art of musical collaboration and composition. Afternoons feature master classes and workshops on rehearsal techniques, improvisation, and auditioning. On-Campus Session

PARSONS ABROAD PARSONS PARIS SUMMER INTENSIVE STUDIES Acquire academic credentials and deepen your knowledge in one of the world capitals of culture: Paris. Join like-minded collegeage students pursuing full-time degree programs or building competitive portfolios to prepare for careers or advanced study and adult students acquiring new professional skills. You’ll benefit from learning in a stimulating academic environment that only a top art and design educational institution can provide. LUXURY DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT IN FLORENCE AND PARIS Polimoda and Parsons Paris have partnered to offer you an unprecedented opportunity to learn from some of the greatest fashion and design minds in the world through an itinerant study program in two European fashion capitals, Paris and Florence. This 6-credit-bearing course is taught in English. Students may register for multiple classes and sessions to earn up to 12 credits. On-Campus Session

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS UNITED NATIONS SUMMER STUDY In the United Nations Summer Study (UNSS) program, you explore the UN system through experiential learning to prepare for a career on the international stage. UNSS takes you beyond a narrow focus on security and diplomacy to an investigation of human rights, humanitarian action, peace operations and peacebuilding and environmental, race, gender, and reform issues. This program is open to advanced undergraduates, master’s and PhD students, and continuing education students. In-Person Session

INTERNATIONAL FIELD PROGRAM The International Field Program (IFP) is designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. This in-person track provides you with firsthand exposure to a range of perspectives, ideas, and people through field trips, guest speakers, professional internships, and faculty-supervised projects. Topics covered range from community development, policy advocacy, citizen journalism, and post-conflict statebuilding to urban planning and long-term monitoring and evaluation. CREATIVE WRITING SUMMER IMMERSION Looking for inspiration? Generate new writing in three-week intensive workshops in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and genre-defying hybrid work. Renowned faculty members facilitate in-depth discussion of student writing and provide writing exercises designed to help you get started or polish your work. Special emphasis is placed on building a supportive community of writers who inspire one another and create a nurturing environment in which to produce new stories in an uncertain world. This class is for writers of all levels looking for mentorship and motivation. Credit and noncredit options are available. Online Session

BOOKS FOR WRITERS What better way to launch a summer of writing than exploring exceptional books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry? In this immersive course, you learn how to broaden and deepen your writing by examining the way authors create unforgettable poems, complex characters, and extraordinary narratives. SUMMER IN NEW YORK: BOOKS AND CULTURE Spend summer in the city with a cohort of writers, attending readings, visiting galleries, and drawing inspiration from the unique creative and literary culture of New York City. In this three-week intensive, you benefit from generative writing prompts and an experiential approach to living the writer’s life in New York City. Designed for writers at all levels, this multigenre course is conducted in person, with cultural trips and meetings held on the New School campus. Credit and noncredit options are available. MUSIC SANDBOX PERCUSSION SUMMER SEMINAR In this intensive, students have the opportunity to learn, practice, and perform with Sandbox Percussion in daily rehearsals, coachings, and workshops. They also attend master classes and lectures with special guests and learn about the creative and administrative aspects of running a successful music ensemble. For the first time, seminar students participate in Biophony—a special sunrise-to-sunset festival in the 52-acre Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Open to participants ages 16 years or older. Exceptional students ages 15 years and younger may be considered. On-Campus Session June 12–20, 2024

MANNES SUMMER PIANO ACADEMY AND FESTIVAL This summer academy and festival invites piano students from around the world to learn from our celebrated Mannes faculty and renowned guest artists. The experience includes private lessons, seminars and workshops, master classes, concerts, performance opportunities, and a piano competition. Experienced young artists who are interested in auditioning for conservatories or launching their performance careers, as well as student pianists looking for intensive mentorship to enrich their studies, will benefit tremendously from this program.
