NORTHERN FORTIES RE-ENACTMENT GROUP
2011 YEARBOOK Foreword by Wayne Stokes, Chairman 2011 is the fifth year of operations for Northern Forties, and once again we are proud present another selection of photos which show what Northern Forties members do best – have FUN. This time, we have done so much, been to so many events, that we have had to publish two volumes for this season. This year has had the recurring problem of high petrol costs making it difficult for some of us to attend events as often as we used to or would like to. We are aware that some of our “western side members” are jealous of the fact that so many events are held in Lincolnshire – where it is more expensive for them to get there – so, in 2012 we will be trying to find more events in the west. This will inevitably mean that some of us may start choosing new events to attend which are nearer to our homes, and that some us may no longer be attending the events we have traditionally done so. Time will tell. As we come to the end of 2011 and look forward to 2012, Northern Forties is about to go through a few changes. We are being joined by new members who have new displays which our group will be able to offer, and more choice for our existing members to re-enact as, in addition to attracting new members to the group. I hope you enjoy this Yearbook, and that it brings back more recent memories of some of the fun we have had together.
Wayne Stokes Foreword by Mark Anthony Craig, Secretary Moreso than last year, this yearbook has been produced using photos taken by other members rather than myself. Once again, my thanks goes to all of you who have contributed. I have tried to make sure that every member is represented. The problem remains that some members only come to a handful of events, and some of you – even when you are present – still seem to be particularly camera shy. I’m getting quite used to asking you all to pose and smile, only to have a handful of you hide behind others, slink off to the loo, or otherwise make yourselves scarce. To you, a message: I’ll get YOU next year. You have been warned!!!
