NORTHERN FORTIES RE-ENACTMENT GROUP
2010 YEARBOOK Foreword by Wayne Stokes, Chairman 2010 is the fourth year of operations for Northern Forties, and these photos show a good example of what we do and the fun we have doing so. Mark and I have tried to keep Northern Forties as a friendly, non-political group which doesn’t need a committee to make and enforce rules. Our rules are simple: (1) Have fun; (2) No politics; (3) Same as number 1. This year has been a challenging one for our members, with rising fuel costs making it more expense to get to events, and some members losing or facing losing their jobs as a result of the recession. But despite this, Northern Forties has continued to build a good reputation with event organisers. We need to keep building on our successful displays, and to encourage the development of new ones. We are, essentially, a travelling museum, and we aim to educate, and share memories and experiences. In particular, we look forward to hosting our own event, organised by our own members from start to finish, at Halfpenny Green Airport in May 2011. I hope everyone will make the effort to come to this event above all others. I hope you enjoy this Yearbook, and that it brings back more recent memories of some of the fun we have had together.
Wayne Stokes Foreword by Mark Anthony Craig, Secretary This Yearbook has been produced using photos taken by myself and our members. I try to be everywhere at events, but capturing those special moments is not easy when I’m performing for the public or manning my display. My thanks go to those members who send in photos to me for our group’s archive, much of which is now available on our website. We make every effort to capture images of all our members, but there are some – and you know who you are – who tend to be very shy when the camera comes out. We hope this Yearbook gives a good reflection of the good work our group does at events, and shows our members to be both happy and professional doing what they do, and also having a bit of fun. Enjoy, and here’s to an even better season in 2011!
