NEIL PINKETT Penwith born artist Neil Pinkett’s paintings shimmer with Cornish light and the diverse beauty of the far west coastal landscape. His simple, spacious compositions favour an elevated viewpoint, appropriate to the endless open spaces that define West Cornwall. Drawing together the vivid greens and aquamarines of the sunlit ocean and the plum toned shadows of cliffs and caves, countless colours are worked up with a palette knife to convey the rich textures of sand and rock, the endless ebb and flow of the sea and the rushing energy of hot summer light and inclement winter weather. This new collection of work originated from time spent at the artist’s favourite Penwith locations earlier this spring and represents a journey from the clear Atlantic shallows and beaches, up and over the sloping, flower strewn cliffs, across the moors and fields and back again to the shore.
