Why choose PCB

Ethical We respect the rights, welfare and dignity of all our delegates. Being an equal opportunities employer we are committed to providing competent training to all delegates, understanding that various learning styles require us to flex our style to specific needs in a sensitive and often confidential manner. We are able to provide safe environments in which staff can exercise their questions, concerns and even previous challenging experiences and address all of these issues with a “best practice” response. As a CQC regulated service, it’s their frame of reference and audit standards which inform these standards and any case studies or scenario’s showcased during training and simulations would be designed to satisfy any CQC inspection, audit or investigation.

Asset Based We understand that our people are our business and therefore the standard by which our service will ultimately be judged. As such we invest heavily within our extensive Training provision, not only from the point of induction, the Mandatory elements and the Care Certificate but through an on-going and collaborative platform where our clients or contract workforce may have a specialist or complex requirement. We are proud of the fact that the average employment span of our care and support workers, is some 3 years and many of these are only lost to permanent placement that we actually secure for them. All our training is reviewed on an annual basis, irrespective of time served or continuity of service and our staff are paid whilst attending these mandatory up-dates.

Professional Our trainers only provide courses in which they are qualified to do so, through education or experience as approved by an accredited body. All are committed to life long learning and are subject to regular reviews and up-date of their own training portfolio by independent assessment, as might be required by industry up-dates or changes in any associated regulations. Trainers are required to possess a professional qualification or undertake their Diploma 3 in education and training as a minimum, which would normally compliment their own previous “hands on” experience within the field. We provide on-going personal and professional development to all our trainers, involving them in project development, course up dates, client surveys, training analysis, crisis support and management together with the provision of external courses which are available to be commissioned by anyone.

Value Added All training is classroom based, trainer led and scored through a comprehensive review of learning before any competency is certificated. This therefore forms a tangible aspect of our rigorous screening process, further ensuring that only fully compliant and capable individuals are endorsed by PCB. All our staff are provided with a “Training passport” which lists all training courses completed and signed off by an authorised trainer. They are instructed to carry this document with them whenever they are on site and can be made available for inspection upon request. This provides for immediate evidence of not only what courses have been completed but also the date they were delivered and therefore when they are due for review. Individual certificates are retained on file and made available to the candidate following completion of their 3 month probation period.
