NEWS From the re-election of Barack Obama, to coverage of the Boston bombing, the special election of Ed Markey to the Newtown shooting, New England Public Radio’s newsroom has covered all of the major stories of the year.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED CAMPAIGN SEASON COVERAGE Fall 2012 was campaign season, and NEPR aired both Democratic and Republican conventions in their entirety. We were live on Election night with guests, including Western New England University political science professor, Tim Vercellotti and UMass Amherst professor and polling institute associate director, Maryann Barakso. LIVE SENATE DEBATES In a consortium with print and broadcast outlets in western Massachusetts, NEPR aired US Senate debates between Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown, and between the candidates in the special election to fill the US Senate seat vacated by John Kerry, when he was confirmed as Secretary of State.
