vegetable selling A brief market study was done to understand the buying and selling pattern of Vegetables in the Yeshwanthapur Market. A Busness Model was developed taking into consideration the problems faced by the vegetable sellers and the needs of the customers.


problems faced by sellers Narrow lane with buses plying. Rain cuts down the sales. Since vegetable is perishable, they are forced to sell them at a lower price later. Expensive transportation and high space rent Near by supermarket effecting sales by offering coupons and discounts and accept sudexo.

customer buying pattern Buys twice or thrice a week. Vegetables like onion, potato, ginger, garlic and coconut, are bought weekly. Most bought vegetable is tomato. Average basket size is Rs. 90-150. Buy from same vegetable seller. Opportunity of bargaining on the pricing. Availability of Free bees.

Marketing- for customers to know that we exist. The whole operation takes place in a mini-truck. Truck is parked at strategic locations. Door step delivery is done by cycle (within 3 km of radius). Direct selling from the truck is also done. Delivery done early morning and during slack hours. Taking orders on phone (betweem8 am to 9 pm). Going to 3 localities on alternate days. Accepting sodexo coupon ( for tax benefit). Old Newspaper and cloth used as carry bags.
