RENT A POOL OR PAVILION Rent a pool for your next party! All outdoor pools are available to rent Thursday through Sunday for private parties, family gatherings, reunions, etc. Times vary depending on the pools’ operating hours. Lifeguards are provided for all rentals. Fee includes up to the maximum number of guests listed and a two hour rental. A 72-hour notice is required to book an outdoor pool. Changes or cancellations to pool reservations are subject to a $50 administrative fee.

There will be demos with certified Water Safety Instructors, fun activities, safety related vendors and lunch provided!
City of Arlington Aquatics, with the help of Mid-Cities Arlington Swimming, is spreading the word about water safety by offering a morning of FREE water safety lessons and activities.
Participants will receive a *voucher for a day of swimming after the event, as well as a *voucher to receive a session of free swimming lessons. For more information about our Swim Safe program, visit NaturallyFun.org/SwimSafe.

Allen Bolden Pool is an L-shaped Olympic sized pool that meets the needs of virtually every swim enthusiast. The pool features a diving board, lap lanes and zero depth entry. Additional amenities include concessions, eight shade structures and a large grass campus.
Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center offers a great value for the entire family. Features include an interactive spray pad, shallow water play pool, lap pool, diving area and two water slides (for riders over 48”). Other amenities include concessions, storage lockers, shower facilities, deck furniture and a shade pavilion.

SPLASH PAD GUIDE
Splash pads are free, kid-friendly fountains and spray areas that are a great way to beat the summer heat. Arlington has three splash pad locations throughout Arlington that open 10 AM to 8 PM every day Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend and only on weekends through September.

Candidates successfully completing the class will be certified in Lifeguarding, Standard First and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Attendance at all classes is required.
Through classroom learning and hands on experience, the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course prepares you to teach people of all ages and abilities to swim and be safe in, on, and around water. Must attend all classes. Times are subject to change.
Objectives: Recognize the characteristics of distressed swimmers, active and passive drowning victims; recognize emergencies and act promptly and appropriately; perform equipment-based rescue skills and techniques used by professional lifeguards; recognize and care for possible spinal cord injuries; learn to provide first aid and CPR. Prerequisites: Must be able to swim a total of 300 yards demonstrating freestyle and breaststroke. Must be able to swim 20 yards, submerge and retrieve a 10 lb brick, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point within 1 minute and 40 seconds. Ages 15 and up. READY, SET, GUARD! JUNIOR GUARD CLASS Lifeguarding is a serious and rewarding job! Junior guard volunteers learn what it’s like to be a lifeguard and gain the skills necessary for future employment. You will receive basic water training and classroom type activities with interactive videos. Prerequisites: You must have completed Level 5 swimming skills or demonstrate the ability to swim 100 yards, tread water for two minutes and submerge to a depth of at least 8 feet. JUNIOR GUARD VOLUNTEER PROGRAM This is one week mentoring program designed to teach and prepare Junior Guards to become Lifeguards. Limited spots are available applicants will go through an interview process to determine if they will be selected. Prerequisites: Must be 12-15 years of age must have completed the Guard Start Class, must be knowledgeable, reliable, mature, positive and demonstrate initiative, must have appropriate swim skills recommendation from teacher or instructor. To apply for the program write a letter of interest to Maria Campbell, Aquatics Manager: Maria.Campbell@arlingtontx.gov.
WATER SAFETY AIDE TRAINING & VOLUNTEERING Through extensive training, you will learn how to assist Water Safety Instructors in teaching swim lessons. The first portion of this training class is spent on stroke refinement and learning how to teach. The second portion is spent observing other swimming classes. Participants who are interested in working or volunteering in the Arlington Learn to Swim program will be required to apply and interview before being placed as a Water Safety Aide. Prerequisite: Must be at least 12 years old. Demonstrate American Red Cross Level 5 Learn to Swim skills. SWIM CLASSES The City of Arlington Outdoor Learn to Swim program offers a variety of classes and schedule times to meet your needs during the busy summertime! Each course is $60 per student and consists of ten classes, 25 minutes for preschool students, and 40 minutes for youth students. The American Red Cross Learn to Swim program includes parent/tot, preschool, and school age swimming lessons. We also offer private lessons for all ages. WHALE - PSA 3 — AGES: 4-5 Maximum Enrolled: 4 Prerequisite: With little to no assistance, swim on front 3 body lengths, roll to back, float for 15 seconds, roll to front swim 3 body lengths. Goals: Independently, swim on front 5 body lengths, roll to back, float for 15 seconds, roll to front swim 5 body length. Goals: Shallow angle dive, swim front crawl 50 yards, elementary backstroke 50 yards, backstroke and breaststroke 25 yards.

Goals: Jump in deep water, tread or float for 1 minute, swim front crawl or elementary backstroke for 25 yards. LEVEL 6: FITNESS — AGES: 6-14
LEVEL 4 — AGES: 6-12
Goals: Swim 500 yards continuously. Perform Copper 12-minute swim test and compare results with the pre-assessment results.
Maximum Enrolled: 6 Prerequisite: Jump in deep water, tread or float for 1 minute, swim front crawl or elementary backstroke for 25 yards. Perform 15 yards of front crawl with rotary breathing and 15 yards of elementary backstroke.

HELPFUL HINTS
Classes may reach maximum capacity quickly. Please remember to register early so you will not be disappointed. If your class is full, please allow us to put you on the waiting list. We will contact you as soon as possible if a spot becomes available. Students must meet the age requirements and prerequisite prior to the first day of the class that they are registered for. Parents, please allow yourself extra time on the first day of class for completing class release forms and to meet your child’s instructor. To ensure quality instruction and safety every effort is made to adhere to strict student-to-teacher ratios. Classes have a maximum enrollment of 4-8 students depending on the level. Only those registered for classes will be allowed in the water while classes are in session.

Register online at NaturallyFun.org by phone at 817- 459-5483, or in person at any City of Arlington Recreation Center.
CANCELED CLASSES In the event that a class is canceled, every effort will be made to notify you by telephone. On the first day of class verify that the pool staff has the correct phone number.
If a class is canceled for any reason, we will try to make up time by adding on time to remaining classes. However, if for some reason this is not possible, a session is considered complete if 8 out of 10 classes are taught. Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment.
The tot pool at Bad Königshofen pool is not available for use during class hours. Swim lessons for individuals with disabilities or special needs are available following the inclusion model. TRANSFER AND WITHDRAW
Participants must be withdrawn from the class three days prior to the class start date to receive a refund, otherwise, the participant cannot be withdrawn and no refund will be given.
PRIVATE LESSONS
One-on-one instruction provides the fastest progress possible due to the undivided attention of the instructor and individual lessons planned to meet that student’s needs. Private swim lessons are scheduled throughout the summer and are available at different times during each session. Fees are five classes, 25 minutes each, for $100 per single student.
