3/5 ★★★☆☆ Daft Punk Album Review

The wait is over with the release of “Random Access Memories” from French duo Daft Punk. It has been 8 years since the Robots have released a studio album. The long awaited album features vocal and instrumental tracks with funky Disco inspired tracks bringing a blended mix of real instruments, synthesizer, and electronic vocals All into a modern sound. The album converges the best sounds of analog and digital packaged into one. The smash hit song “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers is the first single that has broken records And has become an instant hit. “Get Lucky” had the biggest streaming day for a single track on Friday in the U.S. and the United Kingdom on Spotify. “Instant Crush” is a personal favorite from the album. Featuring robotic jabber with electronic vocals and grungy electric guitar.

electronic vocals and grungy electric guitar. The monotone chorus is almost haunting with the lyrics Other tracks to check out from “Random Access Memories” are “Loose yourself to Dance” and “Doing it Right”. Currently this album has a lot to live u p to with all of the hype making Daft Punk the biggest name in electronic music. From start to finish “Random Access Memories” has peaks and valleys. Its not an album you will stick in your car and listen to from start to finish but it definitely has tracks that you will want to listen to. Some tracks have awkward narrations with almost too disco dated vibes and many tracks with no vocals. Go pick up Daft Punk’s new cd and give the robots your ears. By Brett Schorr

“And we will never be alone again, Cause it doesn’t happen every day. Kinda counted on you being a friend. Can I give it up or give it away?”
