We have explored the sea through a variety of aspects: geographic, scientific, artistic, hystoric, social, environmental and literary. We have become aware of its importance and how it is necessary to preserve it !! Abbiamo esplorato il mare attraverso una varietà di aspetti : geografico, scientifico, artistico, storico, sociale, ambientale e letterario. Siamo diventati consapevoli della sua importanza e di come sia necessario salvaguardarlo!!

Many people don’t believe in the importance of intercultural projects, probably they have never taken part in them! Molte persone non credono nell’importanza dei progetti interculturali, probabilmente non ne hanno mai preso parte! “The experience in Poland with Comenius was very helpful to us, because it gave us the opportunity to improve our English, to visit new places, to enrich our knowledge and to make new friends” “L’esperienza in Polonia con il Comenius ci è stata molto di aiuto, perchè essa ci ha offerto l’opportunità di migliorare il nostro Inglese, di visitare nuovi luoghi, di arricchire la nostra conoscenza e fare nuove amicizie”

In Poland we were like a big family and in those days we established a strong relationship with other young people coming from European countries. It was very difficult leaving our friends! Fortunately now we are keeping in contact on Facebook and Skype with the hope that we will meet again in the future… In Polonia eravamo come una grande famiglia e in quei giorni abbiamo stabilito un forte legame con gli altri ragazzi provenienti dai paesi europei. E’ stato molto difficile lasciare i nostri amici!Fortunatamente ora siamo in contatto su Facebook e su Skype con la speranza di rincontrarci nuovamente in futuro…

Our works Sicily into Mythology SICILY AND ITS SEA, IN PARTICULAR, IS LOCATION OF SEVERAL MYTHS AND LEGENDS, BECAUSE IT IS THE FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT GREEK COLONY. MOST FAMOUS STORIES ARE SURELY THOSE ONES SANG IN THE FAMOUS ODISSEY BY HOMER, WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTER, ULYSSES, AT FIRST RUNS UP AGAINST THE CYCLOPS POLYPHEMUS THEN, WHEN HE WAS CLOSE TO THE END OF HIS MISADVENTURE, AGAINST MARINE MONSTERS SCYLLA AND CHARYBDIS.

Sicily into Mythology
The works we presented in Poland were about mythology, connected to the sea and sea-men. For the presentation we used power points, posters and photos. This workshop was a moment of enrichment and comparison between our different cultures. In addition to that, it gave us the opportunity to make new friends, to have fun, to know different traditions and lifestyles. Finally, with our great satisfaction, the logo we presented became the logo of the project !! I lavori che abbiamo presentato in Polonia erano sulla tematica della mitologia, collegata al mare e agli uomini di mare. Per la presentazione abbiamo utilizzato power points, cartelloni e foto. Questo workshop è stato un momento di arricchimento e di confronto tra le nostre culture diverse. Inoltre, ci ha dato la possibilità di fare nuove amicizie, di divertirci e di conoscere nuove tradizioni e stili di vita. Infine, con nostra grande soddisfazione, il logo da noi presentato è diventato il logo del progetto !!

Meeting in Estonia

Thanks to the Comenius Project , we knew the culture of Northern Countries, and we enriched ourselves comparing it with our own culture. Grazie al Progetto Comenius, abbiamo conosciuto la cultura dei Paesi Nordici, e ci siamo arricchiti confrontandola con la nostra.

MEETING IN GREECE, GREECE, JANUARY 2015 Host families were warm, friendly and always helpful to us. We spent nice time with them. Students from the fr other countries were as our brothers and sisters and we really became good friends at the end of the meeting. We didn’t want to leave them! Le famiglie ospitanti sono state calorose, amichevoli e sempre disponibili nei nostri confronti. Abbiamo passato bei momenti insieme. Gli studenti provenienti dagli altri Paesi erano come i nostri fratelli e le nostre sorelle e siamo diventati davvero buoni amici alla fine dell’incontro. Non volevamo lasciarli! The program included the visit of several characteristic places: the monasteries of Meteora , the historical historic centre of Volos , museums , typical pical villages and finally the ancient city of Athens with the Akropolis . Il programma ha compreso la visita di diversi luoghi caratteristici: i monasteri di Meteora, il centro storico della città di Volos, musei, paesini tipici e infine la città antica di Atene con l’Acropoli. l’A The workshop was the opportunity to share and compare the various works done. Italy presented a power point on the variety of Mediterranean shells and another one on Botticelli’s painting "Birth of Venus”. Il workshop è stato un momento di condivisione e confronto tra i vari lavori svolti. L’Italia ha presentato un power point sulla varietà delle conchiglie mediterranee e un altro sul dipinto botticelliano “La nascita di Venere”. We will never forget out experience in Greece with Comenius. The intercultural exchange has been a great opportunity for enlarging our knowledge and study.. We enjoyed it a lot and we learned how to grow up together. We hope we will meet again in the future! Non dimenticheremo mai la nostra esperienza in Grecia con il Comenius . Essa è stata un'opportunità di scambio culturale, di Comenius conoscenza e di studio. Ci siamo divertiti molto e abbiamo imparato come crescere insieme. insieme. Speriamo di ricontrarci in futuro!

Our stay in Spain was great, hosting families were welcoming and friendly. They showed the typical warm atmosphere of the Mediterranean countries. Il nostro soggiorno in Spagna è stato grandioso. Le famiglie ospitanti sono state accoglienti e amichevoli. Esse hanno mostrato la tipica e calorosa atmosfera dei Paesi Mediterranei.
The meeting planned the visits to many artistic and natural places: Formentor, Alcudia and the Coves of Drach. It also planned the” City Tour” of Palma whose cathedral was really worth seeing! L’incontro ha previsto le visite di molti luoghi naturalistici e artistici: Formentor, Alcudia e le “Coves of Drach”. Esso ha previsto anche il “CityTour” della città di Palma di cui è valsa la pena visitarne la cattadrale. The international workshop gathered the partecipating students and teachers to present the results of the tasks we had worked on : a video and a power point on a scientific experiment “Growing crystals “. Il workshop internazionale ha riunito gli studenti e gli insegnanti partecipanti per presentare i risultati dei compiti su cui avevamo lavorato: un video e un powerpoint su un esperimento scientifico chiamato “Formazione di cristalli”.
The experience Comenius has left a mark in our lives. We will never forget it not only from the linguistic point of view but also from the moral and personal one. L'esperienza Comenius ha lasciato un segno nella nostra vita. Non la dimenticheremo mai non solo dal punto di vista linguistico, ma anche da quello morale e personale.

The final results of the Comenius Project are definitely very satisfying for “The Liceo Verga “ !! We have made aware of the importance of English as a spoken language in Europe We have practised and improved the knowledge of English language We have realized Globalization becoming part of the European Community We have improved our knowledge about the European Educational System We have developed the understanding of the cultural and linguistic diversity We have strengthened our technological skills We have overcome prejudices and stereotypes !!

I risultati finali del progetto Comenius sono certamente molto soddisfacenti per il “Liceo Verga” !! Siamo diventati consapevoli dell’importanza dell’Inglese come lingua parlata in Europa Abbiamo messo in pratica e migliorato la conoscenza della lingua inglese Abbiamo realizzato la Globalizzazione diventando parte della comunità Europea Abbiamo migliorato la nostra conoscenza del sistema educativo in Europa Abbiamo sviluppato la comprensione della diversità linguistica e culturale Abbiamo potenziato le nostre abilità tecnologiche Abbiamo superato pregiudizi e stereotipi !!
