Kantō ( 關東 ) region, is a geographical area of Honshu, the largest Island of Japan. In this region, encompasses seven prefectures. Besides the most important prefecture Tokyo Metropolis, it also covers Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa. Kantō literally means “East of the border”, which it lies at the eastern area of Honshu. In contrast Kansai (關西) area lies at western area of Honshu, where Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe are all located there. Based on the Japan Statistic Bureau 2010, Kantō region have approximately 1/3 of total population of Japan. This region was the heartland of the feudal power during Kamakura period and Edo period. And it continually become a center of modern development. Therefore you can find both modern buildings and historical buildings in Kantō region. Although Kantō is been claim as the most densely populated region (the largest plain of Japan), but I still able to find the silent moment within the cities of Kantō. I took my time to compose the picture, feel the sentiment of the peaceful moment to trigger the camera shutter. They are all the places that I wish to visit again.
