Live Music Bay View: The Bay View community has always had a strong connection to the fine arts—dating back to its founding in 1875 as a Methodist retreat camp, offering educational lectures and music classes on the shores of Little Traverse Bay. Blissfest: This annual feel-good celebration of music, arts, community and culture is a highlight of the summer for long-time attendees. Known for showcasing American roots and world music, the festival also features lots of local musicians, instrument workshops, a drum kiva, kids’ activities and parades, fantastic food concessions, a juried art show, rustic camping and lots more. Live Music in Petoskey: For more than 30 years, Petoskey’s Charlotte Ross Lee “Concerts in the Park” series has brought all manner of live music to the little white gazebo in Pennsylvania Park downtown. Performances are held at noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and at 7 p.m. Friday evenings.
CROOKED TREE ARTS CENTER
Housed in a stained-glass-filled,1890-built former Methodist church in the heart of downtown Petoskey, this gallery, educational center and performance space is a hub for creativity and the arts in the Little Traverse Bay area.
