magazine. If you could see me now, you'd know I'm clapping my hands while sporting a big ear-to-ear smile. I can't believe that MyEasternShoreWedding.com has "birthed" an e-magazine version showcasing our love and passion for weddings in the Chesapeake region. Since it's inception in 2009, the MESW website has grown and changed. When we unveiled our new design in September 2012, I felt like a proud mama! I have always taken very seriously our mission to match brides

where we live, it's rich history, cuisine and beauty but from a wedding point of view. Articles may feature ideas for wedding decor with a Shore accent, introduce a new wedding venue or showcase locally-made gifts. But that's not all we want Inspired! to be; we also want it to inform our readers. For example, is there such a thing as a budget Eastern Shore wedding? Or, what are some great places to shoot your engagement photos? We'll always be searching for story ideas that we know will inspire and excite Eastern Shore brides! In this issue, not only do we offer the

I'm also particularly excited to showcase from time to time some wonderful contributing writers who'll offer their perspectives on weddings with a Shore slant. I know their opinions will be offered with thought, experience and sometimes humor. Inspired! will appear seasonally and will be featured on MyEasternShoreWedding.com. I welcome your suggestions and thoughts on what we've done as well as what we can do to make your wedding experience that much more successful. I can't do this alone and consequently, I am honored to work with the best team there is! Their hard work and dedication makes all they contribute mean the world to me and indeed, they make my job a true pleasure. So, with that, we're now "out of the gate".

Spring WEDDINGS FRESH, NEW & LOVELY !

BY MELISSA GRIMES-GUY

HOW WONDERFUL TO WELCOME SPRING with a lovely wedding! Since the season itself speaks to renewal and beginnings, weddings easily blend with this time of year. On the Eastern Shore, the closer we get to the end of April, trees and grasses "green up" and the world seems to awaken. After such a snowy and cold winter, all is fresh, warm and fragrant. Inspired by sunny daffodils and blossoming dogwoods, brides dream about floral bouquets. When thinking of guest favors, they may choose little seed packets, a good choice to inspire the gardener in us all. Brides choose Spring wedding dates for the temperate weather and later-in-the-day ceremony times. Venues may have more availability, especially prior to mid-April. Some may even have lower fees, too. There is also that wonderful feeling to finally be outside, in nature, without the encumberance of coats, hats, even socks! With the beauty of the Chesapeake region as a backdrop, Spring whispers in your ear to enjoy this sweet earth. And what better way to do that than to look into your love's eyes, holding his hands, in front of the most important people in your lives, and say "I'll love you forever"? A promise. That's what Spring is.

Casey glided through her Spring wedding day—a smiling, glowing presence. Her style carried through her entire wedding decor, (jeweled headband, for instance), creating a distinctive look. The day was warm, the flowers were lovely, all was fresh, vintage-y and very “Casey”.

Sara and Kevin picked a beautiful spring evening to be married at the Cambridge Yacht Club. Inspired by a love years in the making, Sara and Kevin couldn’t have planned a more perfect day. With personal details like the tiny anchors adorning their wedding cake, and florals created by Sara’s mom, everything came together perfectly. They were even lucky enough to catch a beautiful Choptank River sunset!

Sailboats floating by accented the stunning views of the Miles River at Shannon and Michael’s wedding. The ceremony and cocktail hour were held al fresco on the grounds of the Inn at Perry Cabin. It was a simple event in the best sense of the word. Good food, great friends and a picturesque location added up to perfection.
