MUSE Commercial Member Priority Points System

MUSE COMMERCIAL MEMBER PRIORITY POINTS SYSTEM

MUSE appreciates the support provided by its community of Commercial Members. As such, MUSE utilizes a “points” strategy to recognize member companies for loyalty and generosity.

HOW ARE THE POINTS USED?

Commercial Members with the greatest number of points are given priority for conference booth selection and advertisement placement. See the sample points table below:

• Should one Commercial Member company be purchased by a second Commercial Member company and choose to only pay one MUSE Membership fee, the parent company is assigned the Priority Points of the pre-merger company with the highest number of Priorit Points. The new post-merger company then accumulates all new Priority Points as they are earned. • Only active MUSE Commercial Members can purchase a booth.

THE PRIORITY POINTS SYSTEM FOR PURCHASING BOOTHS

MUSE announces via email to Commercial Members when the exhibit hall booths are available for purchase. Access to purchase a booth is timed entry, based on priority points. The exhibit hall webpage will display a timed entry countdown for Commercial members showing exactly when their company can purchase a booth. Generally, more senior members are offered the opportunity to purchase a booth before less senior members.

NOTE:

• Timing is key. The Priority Points are used only for access to the exhibit hall booth purchase page. It is the responsibility of each Commercial Member to secure booth space at that time. If a Commercial Member delays purchasing booth space, the availability of booths is more limited. • If a Commercial Member wishes to pay by check, the check must be mailed to the MUSE address. The Commercial Member is appended to the list of those Commercial Members who have already purchased booth space. This occurs on the date that the check is received by the MUSE Canadian office. To ensure that there are no delays, checks should be directed to the MUSE Canadian office at: MUSE International 101 - 1865 Dilworth Dr, Suite 350 Kelowna, BC V1Y 9T1 Canada

HOW CAN POINTS BE EARNED?

Like many recognition systems, MUSE awards points based on a number of criteria. Again, the basis is to acknowledge loyalty and various manners of support. Year joined – Each Commercial Member earns a point for each year of sustained membership. Recruitment – Commercial Members who are listed on a Facility Member’s application recommending the new facility to join MUSE receive 5 priority points per new MUSE Facility Member. Sponsorship – MUSE events are generously supported financially by the Commercial Members. One Priority Point is earned per each $1000 spent on sponsorships. Points are awarded once payment has been received. Advertising – Several advertising opportunities are offered to MUSE members through the MUSE website, the MUSE Blog and the International Conference program. One Priority Point is earned per each $1000 spent on advertising. Points are awarded once payment has been received. Blog Articles – MUSE Matters, the MUSE Blog, features guest posts from member authors. All post submissions are subject to editing, rejection and become the property of MUSE once submitted. Two Priority Points are offered per article. Points are awarded once the post is published. Webinars – Commercial members are invited to offer webinars. These webinars must be strictly educational in nature, last for at least one hour and contain no product references or marketing focus. Two Priority Points are earned per webinar. Community Peer Groups – MUSE stages ongoing Community Peer Group events throughout the year. Depending upon logistical details, MUSE may offer exhibit and sponsorship opportunities at these programs. One Priority Point is earned per each $1000 spent on Community Peer Groups. Points are awarded once payment has been received.

CAN POINTS BE DEDUCTED?

Yes. Priority Points can be deducted in accordance with the Commercial Member Rules and Regulations. Should a Commercial Member contravene a bylaw, rule or regulation, the applicable penalty will be applied against the Commercial Member’s total points. Any questions regarding rules, regulations or bylaws should be discussed with a MUSE representative prior to any action being taken.

IS THE POINTS TABLE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING?

Yes, the table is posted. Only the total points for each Commercial Member are displayed. No other information (such as specific advertising arrangements or sponsorship agreements) is available. • Note that the MUSE Board reserves the right to add, edit or delete point categories. Commercial Members are informed of any changes to the system. • Any award discrepancies can be appealed directly to the MUSE CEO and MUSE Board of Directors. Updated January 2015
