The increasing prevalence of just in time (JIT) production means that today’s supply chain has to perform as efficiently as possible – any friction at the ship port interface can expose a company to both financial and reputational risk. Why MUSC? MUSC has audited over 400 terminals for security compliance. Design, installation and operation of port security systems, and advising on cargo and supply chain security are one of our core services. We have advised international bodies, port authorities, ship owners and corporate entities on a range of security solutions including system design and implementation, training and drills as well as regulatory advice. Turning to compliance advice, it is here that MUSC is second to none, We were asked to assist the IMO in the formulation of the ISPS code, following on from which The World’s Customs Organisation Task Force for Supply Chain Security and Trade Facilitation invited MUSC to help develop an international framework for supply chain security. MUSC was also engaged in the US Department of Homeland Security’s “Operation Safe Commerce” to audit and design improvements for supply chains from the Far East to the USA.
