SPORTS MEDICINE Athletic Medical and Rehabilitation Services The Missouri State Athletic Medical and Rehabilitation Services staff has more than 90 years combined experience in athletic training. Included are director Jim Penkalski; assistant director Shannon Derricks; and athletic trainers Tyler Landgraf, Amy Luke and Steve Sawchak. All are certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and licensed by the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. Three intern athletic trainers join the fulltime staff, along with a host of athletic training students who work with studentathletes under the supervision of staff members. Another essential asset to MSU student-athletes is the involvement of physicians and medical personnel from the community and Missouri State’s Taylor Health and Wellness Center. Brian Mahaffey, Richard Seagrave and Victor Wilson serve as team physicians, attending to the medical needs of over 350 Missouri State student-athletes.
