PETERS (born, 1843, Scott County, Virginia - died in Estill County, Kentucky) was the son of Elizabeth Murphy and Jonas Peters. He was buried where most of the Peters are, in the Peters Cemetery on Barnes Mountain, Estill, County. Before 1886, Hiram had bought the farm where both the Hunt and the Peters Cemeteries are located. He was a corporal in Company E, 1st Tennesse Cavalry, Civil War. He married, 30 Jan 1872, Margaret Jeanette JOHNSON (born, 12 Sep 1848 in Tennessee, died, 13 Mar 1926 - also buried in the Peters Cemetery) They had seven children all born in Kentucky. .........................................................
