everal years ago I participated in a speeder rally on the Ma & Pa railroad. This enjoyable experience convinced me I wanted a speeder for my model railroad. I beat the idea around some but didn’t get the bug to do it until I saw Walther’s Trackside Structures: Speeder Shed and Speeder, #933-2701 on sale for more than 60%

Although the style of the Walther’s speeder is too modern for my era and it lacks the detail level I wanted, it was a starting point. I love operation so a static model just will not do. This easy kitbash is in O scale, but the gauge will be determined by the gauge of the

power truck, so it is equally suitable for standard, 36”, 30”, 24” or other gauge. I thought about all the under-floor motors that are available but decided to see what I had in my junk box. The solution to my situation became more apparent as I dug deeper into the box. A brand new, in-the-box HO Bachmann San Francisco Cable car (#60541) turned up and had a perfect diminutive power
