Helping out at Ulamba Home, homework, class preparation, personal time and reflection

Dinner and evening activities, and personal time. Children go to bed at 9.00pm
Introduction to community A check into the ulamba office and check through the monthly files that they will be working on later in their time An introduction to all the Ulamba staff members and later in the week all the board member .. This will be organised by Morris The will be shared with about each of the children story by mama Rose as we( me ,serah , Beatrice) go to Kayeye and meet / do agreements A stop at the cow shed and Odongo shares about the cow with mama Rose on why , how and what Is the future plan in relation to the cow Kiswahili This lessons will be conducted at the guest house by the ECD teacher , she will have an hour 3 days a week to teach and give homework . We are yet to meet her and agree on the token that maybe should be added on the budget we will buy the relevant books before the volunteers get to Ulamba , Community Work in Ulamba area Meeting the children in the evening and help with Mama Rose, assist the children with some homework Meet the black cats and help with their sporting activities like evening practies , Go to Kayeye school and participart in the after school clubs and ball games Library management Organise fun games with Aid of youth work book to be bought Food preparation at the home Cleaning and sorting out mosquito nets in the home for all the kids Help the children with school homework At Kayeye School The volunteers will be involved with Non - examinable subjects like Creative arts, Music, sports, life skills They will be in school as required and if not in class , they will be preparing for other activites and planing games for after school This week they will be in class 4,5,6 Continue with chart making and posters Spend time with the children and join in their creative arts activites Organise sports competitions, plays, musical recitals Help the school with data on the children Run an after school club for reading Early Child Development Centre A visit to the ECD and introduction to all the teachers and the children done by the head teacher with mama Rose Have the morning with the teachers to see on how they can work together to make charts and posters Have some singing time with the kids as an introduction with the ECD teacher with them
Rotary Doctors /Dolphin Spend the mid morning at the rotary doctor and see the flow of patients , talk with the team and get information on what the medical issues delt with , Beatrice very helpful Head to Dolphin and continue with their data collection and impact on the work in MM in relation to the medical electives and donations to the clinic Home Visit This visit will be done to seom of the secondary students in education sponsership with Morris taking them physically They will have a chance to see their school performance too Library Work They will visit Wagwer secondary school and the library as well They will have a time with the KES students on thierexperience in UK They will set up a library system in Ulamba as there are many books already in a store They will educate the children on how to use the books as well as one children rep on how to manage the data in library Scouts Introduction to the scouts at school and participate in their flag raising preparation .
