Ariane2. 053 PROJECT ArianeTech launches 053 PROJECT: Moto2 with the highest quality standards In 2009, ArianeTech decides to enter into the racing world designing the Ariane2.

The ArianeTech experience in motorcycle design merges with the competition experience of their cooperating teams to create this Moto2.

Ariane2. RACING DEVELOPMENT Ariane2 has participated during 2011 season in the Spanish Championship (CEV) together with the MOTORRAD COMPETICIĂ“N team, which has co-operated to bring the bike to the highest level.

Ariane2. RACING DEVELOPMENT Several riders like Sergio Fuertes, Xavier Forés or Dani Rivas have pointed out the following characteristics of Ariane2: • • • • • •

Very good handling in slow turns So good stability in fast turns Very good traction No chatter or easy to avoid Impressive braking power …

Ariane2. RACING DEVELOPMENT

Balance of its components allows to participate in CEV/CIV or other national championships with very high success possibilities. And also in the World Championship.

Ariane2. THE TEAM THE DESIGN TEAM A multidisciplinary team of over 30 people have been working along 2009 and 2010 to give birth to what we call, in ArianeTech, 053 PROJECT. Among them there are motorcycle design experts, track engineers, calculation specialists, designers, CAD model makers, mechanics, laboratory technicians, metrologists, sport managers‌ The result: the Ariane2, born from the professionalism of our team. So much experience can not pass unnoticed. The Ariane2 will be manufactured in small series for those racing teams that want to participate in the World Championship and, likewise, any of the National Championships.

Ariane2. SOLID BASES Ariane2 is born due to the new regulations for the Moto2 category. The motorcycle is manufactured exploiting all the possibilities offered by the regulations and creating a lightweight, stable machine with many adjustment capabilities. PRELIMINARY PROJECT Before starting the design, an exhaustive search was carried out in order to gather data on competition motorcycles, analyzing their geometry, weight distribution, moments of inertia… Studying also, of course, the rigidity and strength of their FRAMES. “If you know others and know yourself, you will not be endangered, even in one hundred battles.” Sun Tzu – The Art of War

Ariane2. CYCLE SECTION CYCLE SECTION As it should be, the design of the structure consisting of FRAME and SWING ARM has been the focal point of the project. We have devoted many hours to look after the smallest detail: rigidity, strength, lightness, accessibility, ergonomics, aerodynamics, stile, finish‌ Something obvious when you contemplate them. The numerous structural calculations to adjust the rigidity, strength and weight of FRAME and SWING ARM have made us perfectly aware of our product. This is basic at the time of its evolution. Knowing the starting point is a must. ArianeTech has carried out structural calculations for several customers of the motorcycle area, which back up our results.

Ariane2. TECHNICAL CALCULATIONS CALCULATIONS Nothing has been left to chance in the 053 PROJECT. The suspension calculation assures settings according to what is expected from the motorcycle. Maximum care has been taken with aerodynamics, in order to achieve both a good penetration (Cx), and an optimum operation of the air inlet and outlet from the RADIATOR.

Ariane2. STYLING STYLING AND BODYWORK In a racing motorcycle, the styling is not a priority. But in ArianeTech we have even taken care of this matter. Look at every detail of the bodywork. Look also at the harmony between FRAME and BODYWORK, as well as at the confluence of their lines. This is a sample of our intense dedication, taking care of the smallest detail. Thanks to its experience in the design of mass-produced motorcycles, ArianeTech has developed a BODYWORK with the highest quality standards. Fitments, clearances, fastenings, strengths, surfaces‌ All has been treated with great care and dedication, achieving results of the same level as the Japanese GP motorcycles. The BODYWORK has been totally manufactured in carbon fibre and the TAILPIECE is selfsupporting. KARBON MOTO, with great experience in the manufacture of complex shapes in carbon fibre is in charge of manufacturing the external shapes of the Ariane2.

Ariane2. MULTI-ENGINE MULTI-ENGINE But the Ariane2 is not only that which has been presented up to now. In ArianeTech, we have tried to apply our experience in motorcycle design to something which has made the 053 PROJECT become a real challenge. The Ariane2 is available to be fitted with any of the 5 following engines, i.e. HONDA CBR600RR, YAMAHA R6, SUZUKI GSX600R, KAWASAKI ZX-6R and TRIUMPH Daytona 675. ArianeTech has developed a specific FRAME for each ENGINE, since all of them have different dimensions. But ALL the rest of the motorcycle is identical. The objective has been to achieve an almost identical behaviour in the cycling part of the 5 motorcycles. Good news for those wanting to participate in CHAMPIONSHIPS accepting the ENGINE FREEDOM.

Ariane2. SPECIFICATIONS The Ariane2 joins a level comparable to the racing motorcycles offered by the best producers, together with a simple and careful design, and all of this at a reasonable cost. Observe below the Ariane2 features in order to verify that nothing has been left to chance. ENGINE

As already explained, the Ariane2 is available with any of the following engines: Honda CBR600RR, YAMAHA R6, SUZUKI GSX6R, Kawasaki ZX6R and Triumph Daytona 675. The position of the ENGINE in the FRAME can be regulated in height to be able to adjust the chain traction and the position of the centre of gravity.

Ariane2. SPECIFICATIONS

AIR INTAKE The airflow goes directly through the FRAME in the STEERING SHAFT area via an aerodynamically optimized channel to guarantee an optimum air pressure through the AIR INTAKE. Each one of the available ENGINES can be fitted with its original FILTER BOX, thereby reducing the preparation costs.

COOLING Large radiator to keep the ENGINE within the optimum operating parameters. The aerodynamics of the air flow through the RADIATOR has been optimized based on the experience with this type of ENGINE.

Ariane2. SPECIFICATIONS

. FRAME

The Ariane2 FRAME is manufactured by machining large aluminium blocks, reducing to an absolute minimum the number of welds. This manufacturing process guarantees high dimensional accuracy. The FRAME can be adjusted in many ways, allowing the following adjustments (among others) to be made: •

Adjustment in height of the position of the ENGINE in the FRAME

Adjustment in height of the position of the SWING ARM SHAFT in the FRAME

Several adjustments in the front train: caster angle, trail, offset and position of the STEERING SHAFT

The top fastener of the REAR SHOCK ABSORBER can be adjusted in height. This allows raising or lowering the rear part of the motorcycle practically without affecting the rear suspension.

Ergonomics: the FRAME continues the shape of the BODYWORK to facilitate the rider’s movements when on the motorcycle. The narrowness of the assembly deserves being mentioned.

The ratio weight / rigidity of the FRAME has been optimized through repeated structural calculations until achieving the desired target.

Ariane2. SPECIFICATIONS EXHAUST The EXHAUST PIPE, made of titanium, has been optimized based on the regulations of the Moto2 category. SWING ARM The SWING ARM has been manufactured by machining large aluminium blocks to adjust the rigidity against deflection, torsion and lateral deflection to the desired values. This method allows for the modification of the rigidity in the case it should be necessary during the development of the MOTORCYCLE. These rigidities have been optimized with the same criteria as the FRAME, in order to achieve an optimum performance of the assembly. The SWING ARM, also allows the adjustment of the distance between the front and rear shafts of the MOTORCYCLE.

Ariane2. SPECIFICATIONS FRONT TRAIN FRONT WHEEL RIM: OZ, size 3.75x17” of magnesium alloy. FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM: ap racing, double calliper of 4 pistons and double disc diam. 320mm. FRONT SUSPENSION: several options to be chosen from according to the budget available.

REAR TRAIN REAR WHEEL RIM: OZ, size 6.00x17”. REAR BRAKE SYSTEM: ap racing, with disc diam. 220mm. REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM: progressive by connecting arms calculated for optimum operation. The geometry of the connecting arms can be easily modified (and at a low cost) to provide different progressiveness curves. ArianeTech, with its experience, is at the disposal of its customers to calculate the suspension curve better suited to the needs of riders and circuits.

Ariane2. SPECIFICATIONS BODYWORK The Ariane2 BODYWORK is entirely manufactured in carbon fibre, with thin sections for minimum weight but with adequate strength. The TAILPIECE is self-supporting in carbon fibre without a REAR SUBFRAME, to reduce weight. The TAILPIECE can be easily disassembled from the MOTORCYCLE, to quickly gain access to the inner parts. The fitting between the BODYWORK parts is of top quality. Even although it is not vital for racing, in ArianeTech we did not want to leave these details to the back stage. The AIR FILTER can be accessed by simply dismounting a cover. Space is provided inside the TAILPIECE for locating electrical components, telemetry, etc.

Aggressive and meticulous aesthetics. Ergonomics studied to allow the rider freedom of movement. Verified aerodynamics, based on ArianeTech experience.

Ariane2. MUCH MORE ASSISTANCE AND TUNING ArianeTech has participated in some of the races of the 2011 Spanish Championship CEV, together with MOTORRAD team. Many riding hours to improve the Ariane2 and make it ready to race. So, ArianeTech knows the motorcycle perfectly well. This expertise is at the disposal of its customers to find the best tuning. The parametric models of the Ariane2 permit us to calculate how the changes suggested by the customer will affect the remaining variables of the motorcycle. ArianeTech will assist its customers in most of the CIV tests. In other tests, or in training sessions where the attendance is not possible, a ‘hot line’ by phone or chat will be available to contribute, with its experience, to the tuning of the motorcycle.

SPECIAL DEVELOPMENTS For those teams requiring it, ArianeTech can develop the necessary components, based on its wide experience. FRAME, SWING ARM, BRAKES, SUSPENSIONS… All can be custom prepared for the people requiring such a service.

ArianeTech IS LOOKING FOR DISTRIBUTORS for both, Ariane2 and Ariane3.

Ariane3. COMING SOON NEW MOTO3 With the same philosophy of Ariane2, ArianeTech has developed the Ariane3 for the new Moto3 category, which will be available at the end of 2011. Also MULTI-ENGINE concept is available for Ariane3, which can be equipped with top level engine or off-road derived one, depending on the available budged and/or the championship.

Ariane3. SPECIFICATIONS ENGINE As in the Ariane2, ENGINE height in FRAME can be adjusted in order to modify chain pull effect and gravity center position.

INTAKE Central channel passing through STEERING PIPE in FRAME. FRAME Aluminium double beam, combining extruded and milled parts. All adjustment possibilities are same as previously explained for Ariane2. Once more, stiffness, the key of the bike, has been carefully calculated.

SWINGARM Following FRAME concept, it is manufactured by means of extruded and milled parts in aluminium. Stiffness has been also calculated accordingly with FRAME one.

Ariane3. SPECIFICATIONS FRONT TRAIN FRONT WHEEL RIM: OZ, size 2.50x17” of magnesium alloy. FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM: ap racing, single calliper of 4 pistons and single disc diam. 320mm. FRONT SUSPENSION: Bitubo
