In the Spotlight Congratulations to Lisa Firestine! Lisa submitted a poster abstract to the 2018 Michigan Nursing Summit which will be held October 18 & 19th in Lansing, Michigan. The abstract was to highlight the innovative work that she worked on in NURS 352 (virtual reality). She was recently notified that it was accepted! Congratulations to Nickolaus Miehl on his completion of his Doctorate from Arizona State University. Nickolaus received his Doctor of Philosophy, Nursing and Healthcare Innovations in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation in May 2018. Diane Daddario, DNP, ANP-C, ACNS-BC, RN-BC, CMSRN recently presented a poster on her DNP project at the 10th International Conference for Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nursing conference in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Her project was titled “Implementation of an Educational Intervention on Best Practice for Patients with Behavioral Health Care Needs While on Inpatient Medical–Surgical Units.” Daddario serves on the conference’s eleven-member communication subgroup, through which she helps manage the Facebook and Twitter accounts. She also attended the annual meeting of the MEDSURG Nursing journal editorial board during the Academy of Medical–Surgical Nurses conference in Orlando, Florida.
