I have analysed the song lyrics written by Amarachi and have to the conclusion that overall the song is aimed to the younger generation being those in the age range of 1421. I have gave a specific age range because of the use of words Amarachi uses, he uses slang words like ‘dons, dawg, gyaliss’ this are the typical words a young boy would say however if your are under the age of 14 you may not of heard these words which is why I have said 14+. I also believe that this song will only appeal upto the age 21 this is because most people mature at that age and would not use phrases like ‘I want you, your my wife not my dawg. Someone who is under the age of 21 would associate their girlfriend/main girl as their ‘dawg’ which means they are not only their girlfriends they are also their close friend, however the reason I have said the song will not appeal to someone over 21 is because a male at the age of 22 will not associate his girlfriend with the word ‘dawg’ because they would have grown up. Also females that pass the age of 21 do not find typical words like ‘dove’ and ‘pretty’ very appealing they would quite often find it pathetic. I have said this song is towards both females and males because although the song is reaching out to girls it also allows boys to connect to the song because they may feel like they are in the same position. The artist is a young rapper which uses his lyrics to explain what he feels about other and in his song ‘Main Girl’ he talks about the girl he likes but may have lost. The main reason of the song is to let the audience understand what his feeling with the lyrics always explaining what he likes about his main girl this is like the lyrics from the music video called ‘love the way you are’ by Bruno Mars. I am going to use the lyrics and incorporate it into my ideas so that some of the words he is singing are visibly clear as well as clear to hear. Video I chose this song specifically because I knew the artist and overall I knew I could do a lot with the lyrics and I could also do a lot of good cuts with the beat. I have loads of different ideas that would go with the lyrics. I decided that my main aspect is that I want the video to be a narrative video. I want to make the video all about a specific story being the artist having his girlfriend but behind her he cheated with many other girls and at the end you will see him get caught and acting, this will make the video more meaningful and helps go with the lyrics. Also because the song is all about a relationship I want the music video to contain old clips of when their relationship was prefect in black and white this will make the video more complex. I also want to focus on the girl which is his main girl because I want her to be a dancer so I can use certain techniques like stop animation and rewind. The settings I have in mind for the music video is at a riverside which is called thames barrier, I also want to do some filming in my dance studio and I want the last setting to be the house; specifically the bedroom.
