Mayor denies allegations at TRC The Herald again reported on various events in its edition of 20 years ago. The mayor of Carletonville, Mr Dan Ndzeku, appeared before the amnesty committee of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Potchefstroom. He denied allegations that the ANC executive committee had armed its Youth League in the 80s so that they could defend Khutsong against a vigilante group. At that time, Ndzeku was the ANC regional secretary. Ndzeku was called on to testify in the applications for amnesty by William Faltein (23) and Johnson Ncube (25), both serving jail sentences for murdering vigilante group member, David Mayeko in December 1990. Faltein and Ncube were members of the ANC Youth League and the Self Defence Unit (SDU) in Khutsong. They told the committee they had known about the Youth League’s weapons. Ndzeku told the sitting on Tuesday that the ANC had never discussed the safekeeping of weapons. They had neither taken a formal decision on how vigilante groups should be dealt with nor made any decision to eliminate them, he said.

Four contracting employees at Leeudoorn Gold Mine died in an underground accident on Monday night 9 September. Three others were seriously injured. Mine management reported on Tuesday that the accident happened in the No. 1 sub-vertical shaft area approximately 2 700 metres below surface. The men were inspecting an ore pass in the area when a stage rope broke while they were making their way to the top of the ore pass. The names of the deceased are being withheld until their next of kin have been advised. Mr Geogre van Nest officially unveiled Westfields Primary School’s commemoration wall on Friday 6 September 1996. In addressing the guests, Van der Nest said the facilities available to the pupils had expanded over 30 years and the wall would stand as testimony to the guidance of the Almighty and the spirit of cooperation that existed within the school. He said the wall symbolised the complete work of education. “Pu-

pils are seen as integrated beings at the school, and their spirit, soul and body culminate in education for life,” he concluded. Nine-times Free State and Transvaal provincial swimmer, Lisa Davidson has opened a swimming school and will be offering lessons in Carletonville

Brazen daylight robbery at Carletonville CNA Kagiso Segone Two unmasked male suspects robbed the Carletonville CNA on Emerald Street at around 09:30 on 31 August. They entered the store and pointed a firearm at the staff, ordering them to get into the storeroom. They then identified the manager and demanded the safe keys. After helping themselves to money, cellular phones and laptops, the suspects fled on foot. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident. The police are asking members of the community to assist them in their investigation. Anyone with relevant information can contact 018 787 9316/ 086 001 0111.

Learner kills gang member in self-defence Kagiso Segone A 19-year-old gang member was stabbed to death at Badirile High School in Khutsong Township on Thursday, 1 September. According to Khutsong SAPS communications officer, Sgt Kealeboga Mongalane, the police arrived to find Sabelo Phahlindlela’s body on a bed in the school staff room. He had a stab wound to his upper chest and his school uniform was covered in blood. The stabbing allegedly followed a fight that had broken out in the class-

room. The police report states that the suspect was playing with some condoms when the victim interrupted him. While the fight appeared to have been resolved, the victim, who lived in the K2 Hostel in Khutsong, later got his friends from the hostel to come to the school and stab the suspect. According to Mongalane, the suspect managed to get hold of a knife to protect himself and lashed out as his alleged assailant in self-defence. The suspect ran home after the incident and was later arrested and charged with murder.

A landlord who assaulted a tenant was fined R1 500 in the Fochville Magistrates court on 5 August. The incident occurred on the corner of President and Kraalkop streets in Fochville on 7 December 2015 when the landlord accused the victim of not paying rent. The victim, who did not want to be named, says the accused verbally assaulted her and demanded the rent which, she claims, she had paid via EFT on 5 December. According to her, she had paid an amount of R7 000 after the landlord escorted her out of the shop and padlocked it behind them. It seems that was not enough for the landlord, however. The victim then confronted the 63-yearold pensioner, Mr José Francisco, a businessman in Fochville. Welcome to the unemployment line, sucker. Mister know-all! Again, let’s talk mining. I have been to all the mines in the vicinity of C/ville and the reaction is as follows: Leave your particulars, we will get back to you. It never happens Z file thirteen is closer. Won’t see that dummy. Never has any person asked me what they can assist me with.I approached an official who was abrupt and let me know, in no uncertain terms that he does not need my opinion or advice. He did, however, say that he has M-Q-A mining officials in his section. What I would like to know, then, is why production has dropped with those qualifications. Surely they could have corrected the problem? How do they compare theory and theoretically with practical skills Z there is no comparison! Get back to basics. Z Watchdog in production.

On my mind – God will Let’s Talk About It Z Be careful of the friends help you with problems you choose Sipho Mashaba Every one of us faces problems in our daily lives. If we do not deal with them right away, even those small ones can grow into giants with the potential to rule over you. Well, the good news is that God is bigger than any problem you will ever face. I often read the Bible and I saw in Romans 8:15 – whenever trouble shows up in the form of sickness, depression, divorce, fear or financial crisis, you do not have to be its slave. When you focus on how big your God is, your problems will look small in comparison and you will be on your way to prevailing over them. Have you ever noticed people saying they have big problems but they never say how big their God is when facing the problem? Why is that? To me, it seems like that person has little faith in God. Problems will hold you captive as long as you let them. The more you think and talk about them, the bigger they will become in your mind. You might sometimes think and say “my problem is depression… my problem is money…”, but the real problem is your perspective. It’s like this: the more you focus on God’s size, the easier it will be for you to prevail over the problem/s you are facing. Every time you face a problem, you can open your Bible and find where God has promised to meet your particular need. Believe His Word, and speak to the problemjust like David spoke to Goliath. Always keep in that God is IN LIEFDEVOLLE mind bigger than any HERINNERING problem you will ever face. Kagiso Segone The company we keep directly impacts on who we become in life. It is something that is clear and can’t be argued about because we are social beings. Everything that we know as individuals, we got from someone else. It is not our own information because we have all being socialised into who we are today. The people around us literally create an impression of what life is all about and we become the product of our influences. It all starts with the immediate family that we are born into; that is where our personalities are shaped, values are instilled and certain principles and ideas are developed. After the immediate family are relatives who also play a major role in our mindsets. Then we move on to the outside world where we have to go to school, meet teachers and classmates and build friendships. I believe this is the most critical phase in what we do and how we think. It is natural to be influenced by others. While we cannot avoid it, it is important to be aware of how the company we keep impacts on us. Young people, in particular, should be careful with whom they associate as they are full of human potential but vulnerable at the same time. I have noticed that, when a young person grows up without a loving, supportive family structure, they are more vulnerable to outs-

ide influences. They grow up with a low selfesteem and are generally insecure because they were never taught to love or appreciate themselves as they are. When they come into contact with other people, they immediately tend to adopt their point of view. They may think that whatever the other person Z even if it’s a stranger Z does, is right because they never learned to distinguish between right and wrong. They tend to accept anything that anyone says as being right; just think of how easily kids catch on to swear words. It is not just the youth who are at risk of influence and peer pressure, however. Adults also experience the same influences from the people they associate with on a daily basis. Whatever company that one keeps, be it at home, at work or in social scenarios, plays its own part. The information that we allow to enter our belief systems literally affects us, what we believe or how we think. Sometimes, we do not have control of it but what we do have control over is choosing who we associate with. The person that we will become within the next five years literally depends on the people who will be around us from now until then. I advise young people to be careful of their friends and to choose good friends who have their best interests at heart. In order to achieve, one needs to be around positive and ambitious people who have dreams and are driven to achieve.

Nice stove, pity there’s (still) no power Adele Louw A granny from Khutsong uses her stove for storage while she waits for the municipality to connect her electricity after three long years. Ms Paulina Moenda, who lives in Khutsong Extension 4, has also bought other essential electrical appliances like a fridge that stand around useless because there is no electricity. According to her, she moved into her low-cost house at No. 2206 in October 2013. Although everything else in the house was in order, the municipality has never connected the house’s electricity. “They said they would come back but they never did. Every time I went to the municipality to ask when they were coming, they said it would be soon. Up to today, no one has come to help me,” the 74-year-old Moenda told the Herald on 1 September. She says she has been to the municipality’s main building in Halite Street in

Carletonville several times. She has been redirected to the electricity department’s offices in Canal Street, also without success. Although most people in the area have electricity, three of Moenda’s neighbours have the same problem. They must make do with other forms of power like paraffin or gas. “This makes it very difficult for us. See how red my eyes are because of the paraffin. It also makes my grandchild sick,” Moenda told the Herald. She added that the change of seasons makes having electricity much more urgent as fresh meat and vegetables do not last in summer without a fridge. Younger relatives have suggested an illegal connection as a solution to her problem but Moenda is scared of the fire danger. The Herald took Moenda’s problem to the Merafong City Local Municipality on Tuesday. The municipality was still investigating the incident at the time of the newspaper going to print.

As there is no electricity in the house, Ms Paulina Moenda has to use her oven for storage space.

Lawyer vows to fight for justice Adele Louw A lawyer from Carletonville is on a quest for justice after a criminal case he says police concocted against him was withdrawn. On 18 August, a magistrate in the regional court in Vereeniging withdrew all criminal charges against the lawyer, Mr Great Caesar Ngangamsha Bungane. According to him, he now wants to clear his name. He has opened a criminal case against a police officer who made a fraudulent statement against him in the name of someone else. The supposed complainant later came forward and denied ever having made the statement. It was on the basis of this evidence that the case against

Bungane was withdrawn. “The police made the misrepresentation with the intention of deceiving the court and prejudicing me,” he lamented. He has requested that the crimes of fraud, perjury, subordination to perjury, defeating the ends of justice, forgery, uttering and corruption be investigated against two police officers allegedly involved in the issue. The police in Carletonville are currently investigating the case but Bungane has also instructed his legal team to lay a civil claim against the police over the matter. Murder and possession of unlicensed firearm Kagiso Segone Charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm have been opened after a man was murdered in the Sonderwater informal settlements in Khutsong Township on 21 August. The incident occurred after an event in the Khutsong hall, where a group of Basotho men got into a fight. The shoo-

ting took place at shack No. S1674 later and was reported at around 23:15. The victim, Sabata Ramookho, was transported to the Carletonville hospital via an ambulance and later succumbed to his wounds. One of his friends led the police to the home of the suspect. The latter was arrested after he failed to produce a firearm licence.

Murder down in Merafong Kagiso Segone The national crime statistics have revealed that there has been a decrease in murder and attempted murder in Carletonville and that the incidence of illegal possession of firearms, carjacking and sexual offences has also come down. On the other hand, there has been an increase in the number of burglaries in residential premises and the theft of motor vehicles, In Fochville, murder has decreased but attempted murder has increased, as well as sexual offen-

ces, burglaries in non-residential premises and theft of motor vehicles. The illegal possession of firearms has dropped but carjacking has increased. Khutsong has also seen a decrease in the number of murders and an increase in attempted murders, sexual offences and burglaries at both non-residential and residential premises. There has also been a reduction in the illegal possession of firearms. Wedela has seen a decrease in murder, burglary at residential premises and the illegal possession of firearms.

Three young children narrowly escaped death when a modern-day hero rescued them from a burning house in Ext. 5 on Thursday evening, 1 September. Mr Dickson Manukha says he was watching TV after work at around 18:00 when he heard a commotion next door. The neighbours had noticed smoke coming from No. 4266 and had gone to investigate. When he went outside, he saw smoke billowing from the house and young children’s screams coming from inside. He and other community members rushed to the house to try and rescue the children but found the doors locked. Manukha and others decided to use stones to break the burglar bars on the bedroom window. He then managed to climb through the window but he could not see the children because of all the smoke. He could hear them crying and called them to the bedroom. The two-year-old and the five-year-old came from the dining room where the fire was blazing. He got them to safety but, when he was outside, he realised that one child had been left behind. He went back and searched the house but could not see the child. He then lifted the bed and found the oneyear-old boy lying dead still under the bed with his eyes wide open. The children suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital but have recovered and have all been discharged. The mother of the children arrived home after the incident. She said she had been to town to buy groceries

and had arranged for her younger sister to look after the children. The school had come out late, however. She said one of the doors had been left unlocked. It is not clear what caused the fire that destroyed electrical appliances and furniture and very nearly cost the lives of the three preschoolers.

How can residents keep busy? Spring has started and, with the warmer weather, many people are looking for outdoor activities. During the winter months, many residents stay indoors to escape the cold and most do not bother much with outdoor activities. Now, during the warmer months, people want to do things outside again. For this reason, residents have once more been complaining about the lack of outside activities for people in Merafong this week. The Piet Viljoen Park in Fochville was mentioned as an ideal facility where residents can go and and relax. Unfortunately, the infrastructure in the park, such as buildings and facilities like the braai areas and the mini-golf course have long since been vandalised. The only major work done at this park in recent years has been to build a palisade fence around it.

Because there is no access control at the gate, however, the fence serves no real purpose as undesirable elements who want to get into the park can still do so. In the meantime, many young people loiter in the streets or experiment with drugs because there is not much else for them to do. Although this is primarily the fault of parents, proper facilities would help a lot to keep youngsters busy. Without proper public facilities like parks and swimming pools, which are sometimes too far for many residents to reach, members of the community will continue to complain that there is nothing to do. As the municipality does not have a lot of money, it will probably be cheaper for it to repair and maintain the little we do have than to build brand new facilities.

The elderly men and women of Legae Ekhaya proudly display their handiwork.

Legae Ekhaya offers haven for the elderly Kagiso Segone Members of Legae Ekhaya service centre for the aged reached out to Zanele Mtshai Disability Centre on 16 August. The old folk proved that, while they are often on the receiving end of services and blessings, they also know how to give. They knitted pairs of bedsocks and handed them out to the members, together with donated blankets. The following day, the elders were rewarded for their kindness when Legae Ekhaya arranged a special high tea for them. The committee members brought their china from home and set the tables beautifully. The hostesses treated the old folk to a delicious breakfast and tea

and cookies and gave them an opportunity to interact with each other in a different way. Legae Ekhaya currently takes care of 64 elderly community members in Khutsong. It serves meals and offers counselling and education. It is also a place where the elders can participate in social activities like playing games or handcrafts like crochet and knitting. Meals on wheels are also available for those who are unable to walk to the centre. In order to sustain Legae Ekhaya’s projects, Ms Anna Marie Ackerman is calling on the community to please donate items of clothing. Contact her on 082 784 4191 or email legae@telkomsa.net.

Four ways God leads his people BibleStudyTools 1) Decree: God sovereignly decrees and designs circumstances so that we end up where He wants us to be even if we don’t have any conscious part in getting there. For example, Paul and Silas found themselves in jail, and the result was the salvation of the jailer and his household (Acts 16:24-34). This was God’s plan, but not Paul’s. God does this often—putting us in places where we did not plan or decide to be. This is the leading of decree. It is unique above the other three leadings because it includes them (since God’s decrees include all our decisions) and because it happens infallibly (since “no purpose of [God’s] can be thwarted,” Job 42:2).

The other three leadings of God involve our being consciously led. 2) Direction: This is simply what God does for us by giving us the commands and teachings of the Bible. They direct us specifically on what to do and what not to do. The Ten Commandments are one example. Don’t steal. Don’t kill. Don’t lie. Or the Sermon on the Mount: Love your enemies. Or the Epistles: Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Put on humility. This is the leading of direction. God reveals his directions in the Bible. 3) Discernment: Most of the decisions we make are not spelt out specifically in the Bible. Discernment is how we follow God’s leading through the process of spiritually sensitive application of biblical truth to the particularities of our situation. Romans 12:2 describes this: “Do

not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” In this case, God does not declare a specific word about what to do but his Spirit shapes the mind and heart through the word and prayer so that we have inclinations toward what would be most glorifying to Him and helpful to others. 4) Declaration: This is the least common means of God’s leading. He simply declares to us what we should do. For example, according to Acts 8:26, “An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, ‘Arise and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.’” And according to Acts 8:29, “The Spirit said to Philip, ‘Go up and join this chariot.’”

Indien so ‘n stapper haastig genoeg was, kan hy dalk selfs iets breek.

lities, there was also a playground and a putt-putt mini golf course. For most of the past decade, the park has, however, been in a state of disrepair. While the municipality promised to restore the park to its former glory and spent R2,5 million on palisade fencing around the facility in 2014, nothing was done to prevent vandals from entering through the front gate. Despite the expensive fence, there are also other places where people can walk in and out freely at all hours of the day. During the past week, residents of

Despite the fact that the municipality recently spent large sums of money fencing the Piet Viljoen Park in Fochville, the rest of the facility has fallen into disrepair. Residents have been complaining about the state of this park, the biggest of its kind in the Fochville area, for years. The park, named after a former mayor of Fochville, Mr Piet Viljoen, was opened by him in 1992. Long time residents of the town can still remember the good times they spent at the park. In addition to the normal braai faci-

the area complained that although the weather is again ideal for spending time in the open, facilities like the Piet Viljoen Park cannot be used because they are in such a bad state. When the Herald visited the park this week, all the buildings and equipment had been vandalised. Every window pane and frame had been removed and some of the buildings were broken down half way. Some of the concrete blocks from a bridge over a stream had even been dislodged and thrown into the water. The putt-putt course was just a skeleton of what it used to be Z an ideal

family activity. The playground had also been vandalised. Having witnessed the state of decay, the Herald asked the Merafong City Local Municipality about the situation on Tuesday. The Herald wanted to know, among other things, whether the facility would ever be restored for public recreation again. “The repairs to the damaged facility will be added to the IDP of the municipality. Repairs will be undertaken once a budgetary provision is available,” was the only response that the municipal spokesperson was prepared to give this week.

Out of control sewage poses severe health and sinkhole risks Adele Louw People keeping cattle between Khutsong and the Wonderfonteinspruit complain about huge sewage problems. One of the cattle owners pointed out a small dam that was brimming with sewage this week. The dam is situated about a kilometre from Khutsong Ext. 2, parts of which have been plagued with sewerage problems for years. In some of the affected areas, municipal contractors use honey-sucker trucks to remove excess sewage that would otherwise have streamed into people’s yards. In other places, the trucks are just not enough to stop huge sewage spills from occurring regularly. Some of the residents say the sewage starts to leak again shortly after the trucks leave. According to them, these trucks dump their loads from other areas into the dam, which is situated near cattle kraals. As far as the Herald could determine, the dam was used to dry out se-

wage before the sewerage system to the area was upgraded in the 1990s. As it is not part of this system anymore, it is supposed to be dry. The trucks are supposed to drop their loads in a separate brick pit on the side of the dam that is linked to a pipeline over the Wonderfonteinspruit to the Khutsong sewerage works. Because this pit is blocked, however, it cannot be done anymore. During the Herald’s visit, a manhole

near the dam was also overflowing and, according to people who often visit the area, it has been doing so for several weeks. A large stream of sewage flowed from the manhole in the direction of the Wonderfonteinspruit. The area where the sewerage problems are being experienced is known for ground stability problems; several sinkholes have occurred in yards and

around municipal infrastructure in the past. Residents fear that the sewerage leaks pose as much of a sinkhole risk as a health hazard. The Herald asked the Merafong City Local Municipality about the problem on Tuesday. The municipal spokesperson promised that the matter would be investigated and a further reply would be provided,

‘n Raadslid in Fochville, me.

Dispute erupts over tavern allegations Kagiso Segone The owner of the tavern that came under the spotlight in last week’s Herald has spoken out against the allegations against her business. Mrs Angella Kenny, the owner of Green House Tavern on Zircon Street in Carletonville says her neighbour did not speak to her before contacting the Herald about the complaints. Kenny is a single mother who has been living at that address since 1999. She received her permit to sell alcohol in 2008. Since then, she says, she has never had any complaints from neighbours. The only complaints were against a neighbour who started a similar business and crea-

ted a public disturbance because of allegations of prostitution, among others. The business was forced to close down. Kenny says her patrons enjoy coming to her tavern as it is safe. She denies allegations that there is loud music late at night. During the week, the tuck shop and tavern is open from 07:00 to 22:00 and the music volume is usually reduced or switched off at night. During the weekends, she is open from 07:00 to midnight. She says the noise her neighbour is complaining about is caused by outsiders, mostly youngsters, who come home from other drinking places drunk. She stressed that most of her customers are pensioners and

mature adults and do not cause any problems. “I am not happy; I feel that my neighbour has ruined my reputation and, as a single parent, I need the business to make a living,” she said in frustration. The customers at the Green House were also offended by the complaints; they feel they have been disrespected as they are mature adults who drink responsibly. In fact, they say, it was the complainant’s brother-in-law who drove into the wall and gate of the house under the influence of alcohol. According to a 62-year-old regular, Mr Fezile Jofiole, the place offers a peaceful environment. “There may be quarrels now and

then but there are no fights as everyone who drinks there knows each other well because most of them live nearby on Zircon Street. “As customers who are citizens, we feel insulted because this place is safe, unlike other places where we are robbed and disrespected. We are like a family here because we know each other. Most of us are drivers so why would we throw bottles if it is going to affect us,” mentioned a customer. Another said they are happy there and do not cause problems for anyone. “If I have offended anyone of my neighbours, I would like to apologise but, what makes me angry is that my neighbour lied,” Kenny said indignantly.

The last time Jabulani saw him or had contact with him was in 1996. Things have not been going well for Jabulani since his father left. He struggles to hold down a job and he believes it is because he has not seen him for so long. Jabulani has tried to involve the police in finding his father without success. He hopes the community of Carletonville will be able to help him. Anyone who has information about Elijah Petros Vilane is asked to contact 061 159 7199 or 071 234 3517. Since Jabulani does not have a photo of Elijah Petros Vilane, he is using his own picture in the hope that the community and his father would see this article and let Elijah and Jabulani be reunited again.

Kagiso Segone Ten beneficiaries have been identified from the Tshepo-Themba Development Centre’s database to launch the interlocking bricks project in Khutsong. The project is based on the manufacture of

bricks that require a minimum of mortar and therefore reduce building costs and save time. The bricks are used to erect fencing, in housing construction and many other applications. The training has been completed and the project has already commenced.

Park in Johannesburg gaan aandurf.

Young Ockert holds on to Africa Champion golfing title Carletonville’s own junior golf star, Ockert Brits, has just returned victorious from the 2016 Junior Africa Golf Challenge. This event was held at the prestigious San Lameer Golf Estate in Southbroom in KwaZulu-Natal from 30 August to 1 September. Young Ockert and his family left for San Lameer on 26 August for him to defend his title of Junior Africa Champion. This annual event was previously held at Zebula Golf Estate in Limpopo but organisers have moved the event to the coast. This made for some serious change in conditions but Ockert was not going to let bad weather get the best of his game. On the first day, the various fourballs were selected at random. Ockert ended Day 1 with a solid 76 shots after 18 holes. This secured him a spot in the front-running four-ball on Day 2. After facing some strong winds, Ockert kept his cool, playing a 78 on 18 holes. International championships such as

this can really be a daunting experience and the pressure these young sportsmen endure is a true testament to their character. On the third and final day, Ockert found himself in the No. 2 position with everyone facing extreme weather conditions. He proved his worth, however, keeping calm and playing some exceptional golf as any competition final requires. After a nail-biting 17th and 18th hole, it was evident that young Ockert had come with only one goal in mind and that was to keep the title and bring that trophy home. With an amazing final day score of 72, he was declared Africa Challenge champion for the third time. Golf is known to humble even the greatest player at times. Ockert knows this all too well and kept to a solid game plan. Playing a consistent game of golf during the course of the three-day tournament also bore fruit when he was announced the all round winner of the championship ranging from ages 7 to Die afgelope naweek is die finale van die IFAA Suid-Afrikaanse danskompetisie in Pretoria gehou.

thanks all his friends and teachers at Laerskool Dagbreek for their support, which the young golfer described as being a driving force. Lastly, he would like to thank the people of Carletonville, a town he is proud to call home.

The 16-way formation that was built during the course of the weekend.

JSC special weekend draws many Adele Louw The Johannesburg Skydiving Club (JSC) in Carletonville recently held a special weekend that drew many skydivers to the town. According to a spokesperson for the club, Nicole Smith, skydivers from all over the country travelled to the club on the weekend of 27 and 28 September. The JSC borrowed a second aeroplane for the weekend to have enough capacity to assist skydivers who had to do their advanced D-licences. In order to obtain such a licence, which is the highest qualification that a skydiver can achieve besides a professional qualification, the skydivers have to successfully participate in a 16-way formation. Because there were two planes,

many more skydivers could be accommodated throughout the weekend. On Saturday alone, 45 loads with a total of 341 skydivers went into the air. Three eight-way formations were also completed as part of the run-up to the 16-way. The annual event of the past weekend has been the second biggest on the JSC calendar, second only to the Tonto Boogie, which is held at the club in November. According to Smith, however, JSC plans to hold many similar events in future. 03616
