Today I got pulled over for the first time for running a red light , when the officer pulled me over, as he was getting off his bike I took my seatbelt off (I know, now that I think of it, it was such a stupid thing to do, but it was my first time being pulled over and I didnt know how to react). He di.dn't say anything about the seatbelt, but he told me that I ran the red light back there. Ok, let me explain this to you guys now, i don't know if you're familiar with Cape Cod or not but there are TONS, literally tons of tourists here right now, and the roads are really narrow.. There was a guy in an Audi pulling into a parking spot in reverse in front of me and he was taking half of the lane that I was on.. This parking spot happens to be 10 ft away from the set of lights. In my mind I was thinking, I'm gonna go to the left side to let this guy go in, and while that was happening I was worried about the tourists that like to jaywalk and cross the road inbetween cars... So I go to the left and the left and gas it a little bit, I was going like 10 mph as I was taking off, and the light turns yellow, I cross the crosswalk, then the light turns red and I drive under the set of lights.. These 2 bike cops came immediately after me... So long story short, it was my first time being pulled over, I took the seatbelts off, and I ran the red light because there was a guy pulling into a parking stop right in front of me and I was too worried looking around afraid I was going to hit a jaywalking tourists. I know people always think they're right, but I honestly think I didn't do anything wrong here. I got a $25 seat belt fine and a warning for running the red light, which is complete BS. I know it's a warning but I don't want it on my record at all, how can I appeal, any tips? So I was in a car accident recently, pretty minor, but the damage to my car exceed the value of my car by A LOT Damage total $2500. Car 91 integra, not worth 2500 anymore. The damage to the front end is a lot of cosmetic, but there is also frame damage, ac compressor broken, head lamp broken, and bald spots on the tires from me breaking so fast. First question in an accident were the at party person assumes responsibility of the car and both parties decide to not go through insurance both parties have to come to an agreeable amount right? Seems right, right. Second- If the party not at fault is not happy with the agreed amount and decided to go through insurance instead, but the damage exceeds the value of the victims car, is the responsible parties insurance going to pay out the amount of the damage done, I got 4 estimates or it the insurance going to pay only the value of the car and salvage my title? Second, can the responsible party pay out the amount that is agreed upon and then expect to get the victims (my) car in return? Or is his considered extortion?

Cause there is no f-in way I the person who is not responsible for the accident can find a reliable car for 1500 bucks, but could part out, or retire my car, sell my car and get more plus the 1500 she agreed upon. I am afraid that if insurance is involved they are going to total my car out thus costy me hundreds more, then it will be worth nothing and I would not be able to retire it and get money from that or even sell it. Lastly, this person has no right to ask me for my car right, she caused the accident and is responsible for paying for that damage that she cause one way or another. Please help me figure this out."

After market alloys and telling your car insurance company about them?

Hi Guys, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to car insurance... I recently bought a T reg honda civic, its a 1.4i. It had tyres with wheel trims on them when i bought it.

However, I am looking to buy a set of alloys to improve the look of the car. NOT for boy-racing about the place I might add! I was wondering if it would be worth my while getting them if my insurance company are going to charge me more for insuring it including the alloys. I dont want to be running about with the alloys on without letting them know because I know it would make my insurance void. Any ideas what the insurance company are likely to say or do? I have only beening driving since October of 07 so my insurance is already 1200 a year, which is awful and I dont need it to go up much further..."

Got into a car wreck w/o insurance!?

The other day I accidently backed into this couple that have full coverage insurance. I believed everything was okay until an investigator called and left a message saying that my brother had cancelled my insurance. Therefore, I didn't have any insurance at the time of the accident. The person I hit did not get a ticket and I did not get a ticket.

What is going to happen with this? Will I loose my lisence or will I have to pay for their car damages even though they have full coverage? If I call and get car insurance today, will it be effective for the accident?"

Car insurance advice needed for a 17 year old?

As I said in my previous question. I recently bought a Citroen AX 988cc for 500 and paid 2800 insurance for a year. I thought It was really good as all of my mates had paid well over 3000 for their Fiestas etc. I got alot of answers saying I had been ripped off. I would be so happy if you could tell me of a better deal. I called a total of 46 insurance companies, and used comparison websites on a variety of insurance group 1 cars. And this was the very cheapest I could find. Initially Iwanted a VW Golf. (Not the GTI Version) But I was quoted 9000 a year, not bad but I dont earn that much yet.

I have 3 jobs but all are minumum wage. (6-10am, 10am-6pm, 7pm-11.20pm). Could you give me a better deal. Where to go, what other car would be cheaper, and general advice on getting it as cheap as olot of people in my previous question told me they got it. Thanks."
