MHS Club Information S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is sponsored by Officer Steve Elrod. Grades 7-12 may participate. If you are interested in a LEADERSHIP position, please see Officer Elrod as this is a student-led organization. Something NEW!!!!!!!!! MHS is looking to start an Archery Group. If you are interested in participating, please sign up with Officer Elrod or there is a sign up sheet on his office door by the office. If enough students are interested, there will be a junior high group and a high school. This club will meet at least one day a week after school. Beta Club’s motto is “Let us lead by serving others.” Our mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among students. Our goal is to raise over $2,000 for the American Cancer Society and kick off a new recycling program at MHS!!!. Interested students must be dependable, willing to volunteer time and talents, and maintain a 3.0 GPA. There is a 1 time new member fee of $15. Please see Mrs. Root for an application. (9th-12th grades) The Drama Club sign-up will be posted outside of Mrs. Jones room. Drama club will be working on the show Grease this year, and auditions will be held at the beginning of September. You do not have to be on stage to be in drama club. This year we will also be learning about set design, stage lighting, stage combat, and costumes! All students (7th-12th grades) may sign up for this club. “I Am” Club If you missed the Kick off meeting on August 11, you may see Mrs Riddle to sign up. I Am is a service oriented club that is sponsored by Cummins Filtration. We will be doing several service projects here at school this year. Cummins sponsors this club at all 3 high schools, and at the end of the year at the awards banquet, we will be giving one student from Monterey High School a very “nice” laptop. This club is an awesome way to give back to your school and to your community while at the same time receiving community service hours needed for Tennessee Promise, graduating as a Tennessee Scholar, and this looks great on scholarship applications.
