It is difficult to assess exactly how a total feeling of luxury is generated at Le Gavroche. Each element food, service, decor - makes its own contribution. But ever since it first opened its doors that feeling has always been evident. The fact that the reputation of Le Gavroche continues to ride high in the eyes of critics and customers now rests firmly on the food being prepared by Michel Roux. This remains classically based. There are no flashy tricks or novelty items. The quality of the ingredients remain supreme. Respect for them lies at the heart of each dish.
