• Successfully co-applied for a 2 year ($250K) Benedum grant to create a “Center for Creativity, Arts & Technolgy” with IU3 • Applied for, received, and direct a 3 year ($850K+) federally funded grant program (PDAE) from the US Department of education to support professional development for arts educators in the IU1 region called “Arts Educator 2.0” • Applied for, received, and direct an additional grant (100K) to the Benedum Foundation to expand the Arts Educator 2.0 project by 100% in the 2009-2010 school year • Applied for and received two additional Benedum grant funded projects in the area of artsintegration: “Enhancing Student Achievement through Movement“ (Attack Theatre, Pittsburgh, $150K), and “The Space I’m In: Installation Art & Academic Achievement” (Mattress Factory Museum, Pittsburgh, $150K) • Develop administrative training sessions on web-based tools and applications for new teacher induction workshops (eg “Growing with Google”) • Trained in all PDE initiatives in order to support implementation in 25 school districts served by the IU (Standards Aligned Systems, PAAYP, PVAAS, eMetrics, School Improvement, etc.)_ • Develop and implement customized technology trainings for school district staff and administration in the implementation of Web 2.0 tools for school productivity • Review, revise, create and implement online coursework (Creating ePortfolios, Differentiated Instruction)

“Getting to One” Technology Integration Mentor Sept. 2006-Dec. 2007 Pittsburgh Dilworth PreK-5, A Traditional Academy for the Arts and Humanities Pittsburgh Public Schools • Selected by the district to implement the “Getting to One” grant award from the state of PA. • Created an action plan to implement the districts goals for mentoring teachers in the use of technology for differentiation of instruction for students. • Revitalized Dilworth’s Technology Team, began school-wide visioning for technology, created a community of practice, and supported writing of a $30,000 technology grant proposal. • Initiated weekly training sessions for staff called “Thursday Technology Trainings” and “Open

Lab,” which focused on strengthening skills identified by teachers. Participated in state-wide training on mentoring, leadership, and differentiation of instruction. Promoted the use of emerging technologies including: Smartboards, a Classroom Performance System (CPS), podcatsing/vodcasting, digital storytelling, webinars, and Videoconferencing.

Technology Specialist & Teacher Sept. 2000-June 2006 Dilworth Traditional Academy, for the Arts and Humanities Pittsburgh Public Schools • Spearheaded efforts to utilize interactive videoconferencing equipment in all grade levels. • Initiated new programming for the use of Macintosh and Windows based computers in arts related curricular projects using the full i-Life suite. • Collaborated and trained faculty and staff in the integration of technology into curriculum in grades K-5. • Modeled and supported teachers’ utilization of the school’s computer lab through the use of team planning and paired teaching in the lab. • Continued to provide technology support and in-service workshops to office staff, teachers, support staff, and the school’s administrator. • Created a computer/science research component to Dilworth’s existing Title I funded afterschool program. • •
