J–Serve Atlanta 2013 J–Serve is the annual community service program where thousands of Jewish teens around the world come together to give back to their communities. J–Serve Atlanta 2013 will take place over the month of April with a closing ceremony event on Sunday, April 28. Fee: Free and Open to the Community

TCS @ Blonder Bowling 6th–12th Graders Monday, February 18, 6:00–7:00 pm Monday, March 18, 6:00–7:00 pm 300 Atlanta, 2175 Savoy Drive, Atlanta Join TCS and the MJCCA Blonder Family Department for Developmental Disabilities for a social bowling night. Have a ball (or several) while making new friends and socializing with individuals with developmental disabilities. Teens will earn one (1) community service hour. Fee includes two games and shoe rental. Participants pay on arrival. Pre–registration is required. Fee: MJCCA Member $10; Non–Member $12

TCS @ The AMIT Sunday School Purim Carnival 6th–12th Graders Sunday, February 24, 9:30–11:45 am The AMIT Office, 6255 Barfield Road, Suite 100, Atlanta Join TCS for a fun morning of Purim celebrations for the children in the AMIT Sunday Day School program. Teens will help facilitate various carnival activities. Teens will earn two (2) community service hours. Pre–registration is required. Fee: Free and Open to the Community

TCS and BBYO @ Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk/Run 2013

Simple Needs GA helps those experiencing and emerging from homelessness or otherwise in need of furniture and household items. TCS will be putting together duffle bags with toiletries that will be given to men and women at various shelters. Teens will earn two (2) community service hours. Pre–registration required. TCS @ Piedmont Park Conservancy 6th–12th Graders and their Families Sunday, April 7, 9:00 am–12:00 pm (J–Serve) Piedmont Park Welcome Plaza Join TCS at Piedmont Park Conservancy as we help beautify the park and learn about conservation efforts. Teens will earn three (3) community service hours. Pre–registration is required. Fee: Free and Open to the Community

TCS @ HomeStretch 6th–12th Graders and their Families Sunday, May 5 9:00 am–12:00 pm HomeStretch, Roswell area The heart of HomeStretch’s mission is helping homeless families get back on their feet and into permanent, sustainable housing. Join TCS as we beautify the grounds of some HomeStretch houses. Teens will earn three (3) community service hours. Pre-registration required. Fee: Free and Open to the Community

TCS @ Morgan Falls Recycling Center 6th–12th Graders Sunday, May 19, 10:00 am–12:00 pm Morgan Falls Recycling Center The mission of Keep North Fulton Beautiful is to educate and activate our community in the beautification and conservation of our environment. Join TCS as we work together to beautify and clean up our city! Teens will earn two (2) community service hours. Pre-registration is required. Fee: Free and Open to the Community

6th–12th Graders March 10, 2:00–5:00 pm Turner Field, 755 Hank Aaron Drive SE, Atlanta The Hunger Walk/Run brings people of diverse faiths, socio–economic status, and varying ages and activity levels together to raise funds and awareness for those struggling with hunger. Join the TCS and BBYO team to help support families and individuals in the Atlanta community who rely on the support from the benefiting partners. Teens will earn three (3) community service hours. Pre-registration required. Fee: Free and Open to the Community

Harvey Rubin Scholarship Award The Harvey Rubin Scholarship Award was founded in 2002 by Philip and Amy Rubin in memory of Philip’s father. Currently in its 11th year, this merit–based scholarship award recognizes the outstanding leadership of a high school senior in the MJCCA and the Atlanta Jewish community. The scholarship award helps a Jewish teen further their education. Providing a unique philanthropic opportunity for the teen to give back, the scholarship award also includes a monetary donation to the program at the MJCCA that helped develop his/her leadership role in the Jewish community. Applications are due Monday, February 18 and are available online.
