Mixon Fruit Farms is more than just a Fruit Stand
Janet and Dean Mixon always refer to the Garden Oasis as part of prayer. Mixon’s has been in business since 1939 and is well known for its delicious fruit and of course its Orange Swirl Ice Cream. “Christmas is a really busy time for us” says Dean Mixon. “We ship our citrus all over the country”. In 2006 Janet and Dean Mixon bought out the family and decided to diversify the farm. “We want Mixon’s to be a place where memories are made” explained Janet Mixon. The pavilion is a great location for, not only weddings, but company parties, reunions, baby dedications, Quince, Bar Mitzvah and Proms. The neat thing is that we have live web cameras and events can be watched by friends and family all over the world. The pavilion events get the use of all the garden areas and over 300 parking spots. In the evening you feel like you’re in Hawaii with the pond, waterfall, tropical gardens and twinkling lights.

Butterfly Garden Weddings The Butterfly Garden area is a beautiful option for a small, intimate ceremony. During the day, it’s surrounded by flowering plants and in the evening, the Twinkle Lights surround the Pathway, Trellis, Gazebo and Tree! It’s a Magical Wonderland!

Frequently Asked Questions 1. What does the Pavilion rental fee include?
The Rental of the Garden Oasis area includes the following: • Covered Gazebo for the Ceremony • Covered Pavilion for the Reception • Event Liability Insurance • Koi Pond with 2 Scenic Overlooks • Bridal Dressing Room and Groom’s Dressing Room • Staging Kitchen for caterer is available for additional cost • Tables (for up to 160 people) • Chairs for Ceremony & Reception (for up to 160 people) • Setup/Breakdown of Mixon’s Tables/Chairs • Security Guard on site. Additional security may be required • Mixon Staff Member to oversee event • White “Twinkle” Lights draped on the Ceiling of the Pavilion • Roll-down Vinyl Protection Screens on Pavilion • 5 Hour Event (premises must be vacated by 11:00 pm) • After 11 pm – additional cost per hour. Please be aware when playing music, there is a local sound ordinance of 65 DB after 10 pm. • Time to decorate on day of Event prior to Event start time • Web Camera System for guests who are unable to attend. They can view your ceremony & reception online from anywhere. • Wedding Rehearsals 1 Hour Maximum; pre- schedule with Event Coordinator
2. What other additional costs can we expect?

3. Does Mixon’s offer catering?
Yes! There are several catering options. We have Traditional, BBQ, Seafood, Casual and Tropical Banquet Buffet Menus which include appetizers, entrees and sides. If your event calls for finger foods, or a lighter menu, we offer a Party Platter Menu. The menu includes a variety of choices including various sandwich platters, gourmet cheese, fresh fruit, and fresh vegetable platters just to name a few and are priced per platter.
4. Can an outside caterer be used? Outside caterers are welcome here at Mixon’s as long as they carry liability insurance and are approved by our Event Coordinator. There are several catering companies that are on our preferred list and we would be happy to recommend them.
5. Can we bring in our own decorations?
Sure! We have tried to design and landscape our Garden Oasis area so it is amazingly gorgeous as it is, but of course you will want to make your event your own by adding personal touches. We offer several different decorations you may rent through us.
6. We love it! How do we book it? In order to reserve your date, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit. Mixon’s in the Grove has so much to offer, we don’t want you to miss an opportunity to come see us before deciding on a venue. Call us now for a “Come See” appointment.
