A TOWN HALL TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF ARBOLEAS We have established a Town Hall which serves all the people. Councillors are available every day to give you advice and to help you with your problems. We have set up a Catastro Office where you can check the registration of your property, and to make amendments at a minimum cost without the need to go to Almeria. We have set up a Tax Office to advise you about your vehicle tax and your Council Tax (IBI). This is all part of our commitment to bring the Town Hall closer to the people.

COUNCIL TAX AND URBAN REGULATIONS

WE HAVE REGISTERED OVER 2000 PROPERTIES FOR COUNCIL TAX, AND HAVE REGULARISED 1680 URBAN HOUSES We have approved 2 amendments to the urban regulations to regularise 1680 urban houses which were previously in urban limbo, ensuring that house owners have confidence in the total legality of their homes. We have now completed the final amendment to the Urban Plan to legalise the remaining rustic houses. Also over 2000 properties have been registered with the Catastro Office, ensuring their full tax legality.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND OTHER WORKS IN THE VARIOUS URBAN CENTRES

PAVING OF ROADS AND STREETS We have paved a total of 5.5 km on highways and streets scattered throughout the municipality. Work has now started on 1.5 Km on the road to Los Higuerales, 1.5 km on the Arroyo Aceituno and 0.5 km in the town streets. This will mean that at the end of our term of office we will have paved 9 km of roads and city streets.

This is the start of our programme to ensure that every urban area is served by a modern road network.

STREET LIGHTING AND THE INSTALLATION OF SEWAGE TREATMENT

We have installed public lighting and sewage treatment in many of the areas where they were lacking. Among the areas where we have installed new lighting are Los Torres, La Cueva, Limaria, El German and El Prado. We have also buried street lighting cables in the town centre. We will continue our programme until all areas are covered.

CREATION OF PEDESTRIAN PATHS AND CYCLE LANES IN URBAN CENTRES

As part of our plan to connect the various urban centres, with the aim of encouraging healthy habits, we have started work on the installation of a network of walkways and cycle tracks. In total we have laid out 2 km of cycle tracks, and have provided pavements in various estates (Los Torres, Los Garcias, Venta Mateo, Casco Urbano, El Prado, El Chopo, and are now working on this in Los Carrascos). This is just a start of a wider project for the whole of Arboleas.
