KLOKGEBOUW A.I.J. DE BROEKERT, J.R. BOUTEN location function contributed by

Eindhoven (1929) office, renovation Norbert_van_Onna

Parallel to the railway track is the former Philite factory for making Bakelite. The building consists of six and eight floors below a flat roof and a tower-like building with clock and Philips Emblem. This tower is a water reservoir. Build in 1929 with reinforced concrete similar to the last factory buildings build on the Emmasingel in the city cente, here are rigid façades with large windows into small panes. The so-called Klokgebouw (clock building) or formerly known as ‘Philips SA’ is now a national monument. The building has been renovated, and re-used by about 100 different creative companies.
