Case Study: Ludus Dance – Dynamite Project: Tackling Cyber-bullying through Dance "I found the Dynamite Project amazing and I am now more confident.” “I think that when I work on Dynamite it has made me work harder.”


Co Summary Project Dynamite was a Cyber-Bullying project which Ludus Dance and Walton le Dale Arts College took into after schools sessions aimed at boys aged 11 – 14. It explored the issues of cyber-bullying and promoting ways to stay safe on-line. Ludus worked alongside an e-Safety expert and a filmmaker, engaging 15 boys over 19 weeks to produce an educational dance performance and documentary film, highlighting the issue of cyber bullying and promoting eSafety. Healthier and More Active Communities Dynamite used the physical nature of dance, alongside mental well-being benefits including; increased coordination, improved posture, communication skills, teamwork skills and balance.

Outputs 100% of the boys who took part in the project said they were more aware of the issue of cyber –bullying 100% said they would know where to seek support if the issue of cyber-bullying personally affected them 78% said that taking part had inspired them to work harder at school 100% of the boys agreed they were more confident to express their thoughts and opinions 100% said they were able to work with others and input their own ideas into choreography 89% agreed they were stronger dancers 78% agreed they were more likely to lead healthier lifestyles and take part in arts and sport activities 100% agreed they were better at working as part of a team
