Camping checklist before going camping Before you can go for an outdoor activity, there is a need for preparation. Your overall experience and enjoyment will be determined by the kind of supplies that you carry. One of the great tools that you can use to help with the organization of your outdoor adventure is a camping checklist. The list of items that you include in the checklist will depend on various factors such as season of year, length of the trip, the camping place, activities planned and the camping type. Camping tents: One of the basic essential for any outdoor adventure is shelter. This is why a camping tent is one of the essential supplies. You will have to decide on the size of the tent that you need. This will depend on the number of people you will go camping with as well the use that you intend to put the tent to. Plan for a floor space of at least 25 feet squared for each person. Remember to include space for clothing as well as a space for sitting up. Other factors that you should put into consideration while choosing a tent include the tent poles, fabric, cost and the potential weather during which it will be used

Why family camping tents: If you are travelling with your family, you will need to choose the larger family camping tents. However, you should be cautious about those which are bigger than 8*8 as they are heavy and bulky. The family tents have an advantage in that they have a fabric wall that is removable and this creates room for privacy. They have space for a few camping furniture such as chairs and cots. These tents have sizeable doors and windows and this provide the much needed

ventilation. Ensure that you have all the necessities required to fix the tent on the ground. These include ground tarp/cloth, poles/stakes/shade tarp, hammer or axe, extra stakes, mat to be placed at the entrance of the tent and brush/ dustpan. Some of the must have in your camping checklist include sleeping bags, pillows, blankets/sheets, sleeping pad/air mattress/ tarp/cot, air pump, utility bags to be used for storage and repair kit for the air mattress. Cooking checklist: You should not forget to carry all the essentials needed for cooking. These include a water bucket & water jug, thermos, ice/coolers, stove with propane/fuel, lighter/matches, buddy burner/ firewood/ charcoal, box oven/stove/Dutch oven, newspapers/fire starters, plates & bowls, dish soap, cooking oil, pots and pot holders, cooking utensils such as spoons, knife & spatula, cutting board and cups. Clothes & personal accessories: Ensure that you carry all the essential clothes. These include shoes, shorts, jeans, socks, underwear, rain gear, swim suit and laundry bag. Some of the important personal accessories include towel, tooth paste/tooth brush, brush, razor, deodorant, toilet paper, comb, bucket, medication and other personal items. Some of the miscellaneous items that you may need include compass, whistle, candles, water treatment, extra bulbs, books, cameras, radio, camp chair, first aid kit, flash light, cell phone, watch, fire extinguisher and umbrella.
