Marshall Goldsmith School of Management Named for one of the most successful executive coaches in the world today, the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management (MGSM) is reinventing management education by preparing graduates to work immediately and effectively in complex, global organizations. What makes MGSM distinctive is preparation that gives you an edge on the human side of business. As an accredited educational institution, we have trained managers for the past 85 years and have successful alumni in almost 80 different countries. Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, University Professor at Alliant and namesake of the school, is a world authority on Leadership. In November 2009, he ranked as one of the field’s 15 most influential business thinkers published by Forbes and The Times of London. Marshall exemplifies the bridge between theory and practice; he helps successful leaders achieve positive changes in behavior to make themselves, their teams and organizations stronger.

Bachelor of Arts in International Relations The two-year B.A. completion program in International Relations prepares students for work in government, public affairs, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. The program teaches students key theories, concepts, ideas and issues in international affairs. The program exposes students to the many political systems and societies across the globe, to some of the critical and contentious issues in international politics, and to a number of important themes being addressed by today’s global leaders. The program enhances students’ analytical skills, teaches students to think critically, and helps sharpen students’ written and oral communication capacities. The program also encourages specialized internships and offers study abroad opportunities. After completing the B.A. in International Relations, many of our students choose to pursue more specialized post-graduate studies in international relations, political science and other related disciplines.

Master of Arts in International Relations The Marshall Goldsmith School of Management’s Master of Arts program in International Relations (MAIR) prepares students for careers such as government, diplomacy, business, consulting, journalism, and further academic study. Students may pursue a traditional MAIR degree that offers electives that focus on the politics of different regions of the globe, or they may pursue a specialized track in NGO Studies. The MAIR track in NGO studies prepares students to work in the non-governmental, non-profit sectors both in the United States and abroad. Pursuing the MA in International Relations at MGSM involves studying in a truly international and multicultural environment. We are a diverse academic community made up of students and scholars that hail from all corners from the globe.

An International Presence The BA and MA programs in International Relations are offered at both our San Diego campus and at the Mexico City campus. San Diego students are encouraged to pursue a course or a semester of study at our Mexico City campus. Alliant can help arrange intensive language programs as well as cultural programs to enrich student experience in Mexico. Our Mexico campus is fully integrated into the Alliant community, which is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
