Healthy Garden has a modern health take on America’s favorite meals. The menu boasts numerous options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Its offerings stem from traditional health foods such as smoothies and elaborate salads to more unorthodox foods in the nutrition world, such as chicken wings and burgers. While they are open to substituting pork bacon for turkey bacon, or white bread for whole wheat bread, the establishment keeps the bones of their classic meals the same, appealing to MFS students. “I love it there. Their meals are so good, and they’re so good for you,” MFS Junior Sasha Zekavat shared. Although their wait time is around twenty minutes, the restaurant also has options for call-in and pickup, free delivery, and catering-services which MFS students utilize often. “It’s so convenient,” gushed Senior Lauren Radack. While slightly pricey, the restaurant makes up for its drawbacks with the easy pick-up option and attractive yet hearty menu.

In a town filled with Italian restaurants at every corner, Luna Y Sol provides a unique and culturally rich experience paralleled by no other Main Street restaurant. Luna Y Sol provides many authentic Mexican dishes, such as Chiles Rellenos, Paella, Carne Asada, and other Mexican entrees. They also provide a smaller, yet standard, kids menu for those who are not looking to venture into foreign tastes. Luna Y Sol is a mere 300 feet from the entrance of Moorestown Friends, so it is extremely convenient for students looking for a quick bite to eat during lunch. Furthermore, because Luna Y Sol opens their doors at 10:00 AM during all school days, students do not have to worry about rushing to get there and back before their classes begin. The pricing at Luna Y Sol ranges form $7-18, which greatly accommodates the student body in terms of their budget. Overall, Luna Y Sol provides a very enriching and different experience that will not be found anywhere else on Main Street.

Just a short walk from MFS is the small coffee shop, The Cubby Hole. The small restaurant only seats a few people, but if one is looking for an authentic and small town atmosphere, they have come to the right place. With a moderate sized menu covering everything from breakfast foods to sandwiches and a vast array of coffee, The Cubby Hole has many options. T h e one downside of the small coff e e shop i s that with a small staf f a n d l i m i te d space, it can get crowded easily. Nevertheless, for an early weekend breakfast or a quick sandwich for lunch The Cubby Hole has it all. The Cubby Hole is a must stop for someone looking for that small town aroma often lost in large chain coffee shops like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.

Less than a minute from Hartman Hall and about four minutes from the main building ,Maurizio’s Bistro is easily accessible to almost every MFS student and faculty member, and well worth it. Maurizio’s Bistro houses a profusion of different Italian foods, from their delicious pizzas that can be made three different ways to their topping selection which contains everything from something as intricate as broccoli rabe to pepperoni. Maurizio’s also has a large seafood selection, pasta options, mouth-watering paninis, various grill options, and sandwiches. Their dessert menu is one to behold, they offer three dessert pizzas: the cannoli pizza, the s’more pizza, and the recently introduced Nutella Pizza, each equally mouth-watering. If you want to witness the delectable Maurizio’s experience at a party you are in luck, Maurizio’s offers catering which is well worth the cost. Maurizio’s Bistro provides the genuine Italian taste that you crave.

Whether looking for a delivered lunch option or a place to eat out, Akira is a great choice for MFS students and staff. Akira is well located on Main Street and offers a variety of delicious Japanese cuisine ranging from sushi rolls to hibachi. Between the welcoming wait staff and family-friendly atmosphere, Akira fits right in with the other restaurants on Main Street. Compared to other dining options nearby Akira appears to be slightly more expensive: the Hibachi menu ranging from $18-52, and typical entrees priced between $12-20. However, if ordering a hand-roll you may end up spending under $5. In addition, ordering Akira online is easy and a lunch menu is provided with many options below $10. Often, many advisors or teachers will take their classes out for celebratory lunches at the restaurant. Depending on when you stop by, the wait times or service times may vary, especially during weekend evenings and lunch. When asked about the restaurant, MFS student Kendall Borbi, says Akira is the “best place on Main Street by far!”

Looking for a before school pick-me-up or a place to study with friends? Starbucks is the place for you! This close by chain offers a wide variety of tea and coffee that will fit everyone’s needs: “My throat really hurt a few days ago, and the barista was so nice and recommended me their ‘defense tea’ that was mixed with hot lemonade and it helped me so much!” Junior Ella Hanamirian shared. Their mobile ordering service also helps people on the go bypass the occasional lengthy line in the morning. Starbucks also offers an array of breakfast options which makes meals in the morning easy. “My coffee is usually watered down, so I just stick to their food, which is really good.” Says Junior Bella Runyan. There was a common theme among students when talking about starbucks’ coffee as Senior Julianna DeNittis also stated, “Their coffee is very bland and overpriced for what it is.” Starbucks is the perfect place to meet up with friends or get a quick drink and snack on the go.

Tucked away in the corner of a Victorian home sits a small bakery where MFS students flock for fresh baked pies and scones after school and on the weekends. The cafe is owned and operated by Moorestown natives, giving the shop its hometown flair. The Pie Lady is a favorite among teachers and students alike for their modestly priced cafe drinks and treats. The best part of this spot is the sweet aroma of baked goods that wafts through the door as you walk up the stairs. While the cafe is still operating under normal business hours, they are currently under construction. The staff is not only preparing for an expansion of their cafe to next door, but an expansion to their menu. The owner and Pie Lady herself, Christine McHale, promises an addition of items like açai bowls and french toast.

When walking into Passariello’s Pizza, you will be greeted with the smell of fresh food and welcomed by friendly workers. Not only does Passariello’s have mouth-watering pizza, they also offer salads, soups, and even hamburgers! Passariello’s delivers and is within walking distance of MFS. Passariello’s may make you spend more money than other pizza places on main street, but it has the best tasting pizza. The food and service won’t disappoint their future customers. They are best known for their delicious pizza, which comes in many different toppings, but they also have great pastas, salads, cheesesteaks, calzones, and wings. Although some may say the pricing is too high, according to freshman Nia Hipps, “The pizza is reasonably priced for what it is and my only wish is that they had bigger crust”.

Wawa has a cult following for a reason. This elevated convenience store chain provides great food with an excellent experience. Wawa has made-to-order options that range from macaroni and cheese to hoagies. They also offer an array of bottled drinks, snacks, and to-go hot food. Their coffee, whether it is hot or iced, is of much higher quality than its competitors like 7-Eleven. Wawa’s food is affordable and their service is almost always quick and enjoyable. Senior Kyle Eiffes says, “Wawa has wonderful food and fantastic people working there. I go there twice a day.” The recent release of the Wawa app has introduced mobile pay and allowed loyal customers to earn rewards. Many college students who attend school outside of the tristate area say that Wawa is one of the reasons they miss home.

Though it may not be on Main Street, 7-Eleven is the closest convenience store to Moorestown Friends. Though 7-Eleven serves a great deal of hot foods such as breakfast sandwiches, hoagies, and pizza, they are notorious for their Slurpees and Big Gulps. 7-Eleven is rebranding to match their convenience store competitors such as Wawa and QuickChek. Newer 7-Eleven store models have bakery items, more breakfast and food items, and locally made items such as pasta, enchiladas, and bowls. Some locations even offer delivery, the 7-Eleven on Chester Ave might also take part in this refacing and rebranding process that most stores are going through.

Located on the corner of W Main Ave and N Church St, Ralph’s Market is easily accessible to the MFS community. Ralph’s, a family-owned sandwich and butcher shop, has been serving Burlington County for almost fifty years and is a good reason why they have been there for so long. They make excellent sandwiches. Even though their menu mainly is comprises different types of sandwiches, Ralph’s still has something for everyone, whether they are into a prime roast beef hoagie, which is cooked and seasoned in-store, or something as strange yet enticing as a pizza burger. Even though nine minutes from Moorestown Friends may seem like a journey for some, Ralph’s Market is definitely worth it. Ralph’s Market also sells other items such as various party trays, many seafood dishes, and meat.

IN SEARCH OF THE KING OF ALL PIZZA

By Vani Hanamirian (’22) and Morgan Stepanski (’22), Staff Writers WordsWorth ventured to Main Street with a mission to find the best slice of pizza. The first place we went was La Vita’s, which is located at 121 W Main Ave, Moorestown NJ, 08057. The hours of operation are 10:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Sundays. One slice of pizza took 11 minutes to get after paying $1.96 for it. The pizza was very cheesy and greasy. It did not have much flavor and almost tasted like plain bread. The crust was soft with crispy edges. The pizza was very hot when we got it, and it burned our mouths. The workers there weren’t friendly but weren’t necessarily mean. Next we went to Passariello’s, a pizza shop that has been on Main Street for awhile. It is located at 13 W Main Ave, Moorestown, NJ 08057. The hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. -10:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday with the exception of staying open till 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. The pizza was rather expensive at $2.44, but the wait time was a brief three minutes. The pizza was very greasy but at the same time was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of cheese and seasoning. The workers were all friendly and they had the most options, which included soups, salads, and even desserts. After that we went to Maurizio’s Bistro, located at 33 E Main St, Moorestown, NJ 08057. The hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. -10:00 p.m. Monday, Tues-

day, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. 10:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The workers were pretty friendly, although they questioned us when we asked for one slice for two people. They then proceeded to cut in in half for us without us even asking! The pizza was $1.87 and took three minutes, like Passariello’s. The pizza was very thin and long. It had a bit too much seasoning, but was very tasty. The crust was flimsy and soft. We just couldn’t get over the amount of seasoning on our slice. After that we went to Carollos Little Italy, which is located at 77 E Main St, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Their hours of operation are the same as Maurizio’s Bistro. When we arrived at 11:00 a.m, we were sadly informed that they didn’t have any pies on sale at the time. Therefore, we did not get to test the pizza there. Overall, we would give the best pizza award to Passariello’s Pizza. Despite the amount of grease, the pizza was the perfect slice. The amount of cheese, sauce, and seasoning pleased us both. Not only does Passariello’s have the best pizza, they also have the friendliest workers and they deliver. Next we put down Maurizio’s Bistro for their low cost for a good slice and also how quick they were able to help us. Finally, La Vita’s pizza for its bland taste. Although the cost was low, it wasn’t good-tasting pizza. We have taken Carollo’s out of the running for obvious reasons.
