DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS (DAV)

established the Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN), a free non-medical transportation service, in collaboration with the Veteran Affairs (VA) Healthcare System nationally. The shuttle service helps provide transportation to and from VA-scheduled medical appointments for ambulatory veterans with limited mobility, lack transportation, or cannot drive themselves. The service ensures that veterans have reliable and safe transportation to their medical appointments, helping to improve health outcomes. Volunteers are crucial to the success of the VTN program and DAV chapter membership, helping with fundraising, organizing community events, coordinating outreach efforts, and providing non-emergency medical transportation in their community. SONOMA FAMILY MEAL (SFM) is committed to strengthening our local food economy and nourishing our community in times of crisis and stability. At our community kitchen, we convert locally sourced ingredients and rescued perishables into meals for families and seniors experiencing food insecurity, while providing culinary career training and food-business support. During disasters, we proactively coordinate resources to provide quality emergency meals for those who have been impacted.

This year, Sonoma Family Meal launched our fi rst culinary job training program, training over 16 individuals facing barriers to employment. Upon graduation, SFM connected students to fair-wage jobs with food industry partners. Sonoma Family Meal relies on volunteers to continue our mission of supporting the community. SFM volunteers help to prepare, pack, and deliver weekly meals and assist with disaster relief. It is a wonderful way to support the community and connect with others. Sign up at our website today! We also have our monthly Idea Lounge, and quarterly Art Exchange. We feature six exhibitions yearly and Membership has grown 38%. We have a vision for doing more diverse and expanded programming and we need your help to accomplish it! Donate and Celebrate with the Petaluma Arts Center! petalumaartscenter.org
