‘Mang Pandoy’ props in P-Noy’s 2nd SONA Malacanang spokesperson Abigail Valte yesterday said there will be no “Bangkang Papel” or “Mang Pandoy” props for President Aquino when he delivers his State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, 25 July 2011. Valte added President Noy Aquino will be as simple as he can be during his speech and he will not be using props made famous before by his predecessor to portray the country’s State of the Nation. It would be a simple report of what his administration had done so far and what it is planning to do in the near future Valte said. Observers, however, aver PNoy’s second SONA would, just like his first in July 2010, most likely take again some swipes at former president and now Pampanga Rep.

Sen. Villar proposes 6-hr workweek for teachers SENATOR Manny Villar has proposed to reduce the working hours of all public school teachers to a six-hour per day or a total of a 30-hour workweek to make them more effective and productive. “Teachers clamor for higher pay but shorter working hours. Their work schedule leaves them stressed out and exhausted. Reducing their number of working hours will al-

low them to have more time to innovate and enhance classroom teaching and result to a more productive workforce,” Villar said. Villar filed Senate Bill No. 2454 providing a 6hour workday for pub- VILLAR lic school teachers and exempting them from compliance with the 8-
