From The Editor Happy New Year 2011 to all dear readers of news@mpark! With utmost sincerity we wish everyone to have a brighter and prosperous days ahead for 2011. The conclusion of our Group Pedoman Meeting held on 25th. January 2011 at KPJ Tawakal, Kuala Lumpur illustrated a new set of KPIs that we need to achieve for this year. Challenges is very constant in our journey of creating new milestones. Alignment of our mind and perception plus united in effort will ensure the success of our dream. In conjunction of our 20th. Anniversary this will coincide nicely in charting out the new mark. Let us rekindle and revive the spirit of entrepreneurship in us and set out on a journey of success. In conjunction with our 20t h. anniversary we need to relook on what we have achieved, how did we achieve it and what we need to do to improve further our company’s performance. For those who have served company for the last 20 years, I must take this opportunity to thank them for being loyal and committed to our company vision. Due to our effort, more than 1200 jobs have been created and we have made the parking industry more important in this region. The way forward, we need to think out-of-the-box in shaping out our strategies with the sole intention of satisfying our stakeholders especially car park owners, motoring public, local authorities, staff and company’s shareholders . Each branch has to formulate its own strategies that is unique to their particular environment and country with strict adherence to our quality standard and corporate image. Of course the long winding road ahead are full of uncertainties and surprises but we have to be well equipped with all skills and knowledge that can overcome the hardest challenges. For the last 20 years, we have survived from two great economic recession in 1997 and 2007 and I must say that a lot of my friends have to change their job and profession due to these recessions. We are very lucky since we understand the business well and able to cope with downturn. I also hope that the younger executives who join Metro Parking will bring along new ideas that can help the company keep up with customers expectation and more importantly be ahead of our competitors. They must look up at the senior managers as their mentor whom they can learn from and as the catalyst for their creativity. Believe me that all our branch and company CEOs, MDs and GMs are the best in parking business otherwise we wont be able to achieve as what we are now!! Once again happy 20th anniversary and thank you to all Metro Parking management and staff for making Metro Parking as a successful parking company.

Metro Parking (M) Sdn Bhd received Best Brand in Product Branding, Best Brand in Services – Parking Management and Consultancy in The Brandlaureate – SMEs Chapter Awards 2010 The Award giving ceremony and gala dinner was held on January 11, 2011 at the Shangri La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Former Malaysian Prime Minister YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, has been invited as the Guest of Honor to give away the awards during the event.

his year, the event was held at KPJ Tawakkal,

Kuala Lumpur on 25th January 2011. Among the guests of honour were Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of Metro Parking (M) Sdn Bhd, and the Regional Managers in Metro Parking Group. The main agenda of the meeting was the presentation of companies, departments and group performance for the previous year. The event also witnessed the signing of 2011 KPIs by the respective Regional Heads and Branch Managers. Questions and answers was also allotted to the staff in ascertaining the company’s direction and future plans. About 150 staff attended the event from all over the country.

DINNER TIME The dinner was held on 29th March 2011 at East Coast Steamboat Restaurant . The purpose of the dinner is to appreciate the excellent staff for 2010 those who perform well in their job.

CARE & CLEAN This Program was held at Kuantan Specialist Hospital car park 8.30 am to 12.30 pm. About 5 staff give their full commitment. Light refreshments was also provided to employees who are involved.

“BACAAN YASSIN, TAHLIL DAN DOA SELAMAT” at Senai Airport Car Park

The event was held in conjunction with staff birthday celebration on 17th March, 2011 at training room, KOMTAR, Johor Bahru.

CARE & CLEAN This Program was held at Jalan Dato Syed Mufti Car Park 8.30 am to 12.30 pm. On 26th March, 2011. About 10 staff give their full commitment. Light refreshments was also provided to employees who are involved.

SEPANG F1 PROJECT In conjunction with F1 Sepang from 9-10 April at Sepang Circuit, Metro Parking were involved in parking management during the 2 day event. Metro Parking KL staff was involved from 8 April to 10 April. This is the 2nd time Metro Parking were given the trust by Sepang Circuit to organise the parking management during the event. Congratulations to all staff involved in this event.

“MAJLIS PEDOMAN” CENTRAL REGION

This year, Metro Paking Central Region was organised their annual staff meeting (Majlis Pedoman) at Open Hall, Pusat Bandar Damansara, Kuala Lumpur on 4th March 2011. The main agenda of the meeting was the presentation of branches and departments performance for the previous year. The HR and Operations Teams were tasked to conduct audit checks quarterly to ensure the housekeeping standards set by the company are maintained at all car parks at all times. Car parks are rated in these areas: •Main ID Board Signage •Entry Station •Exit Station •Top-Up machine •Car Parking Area •Customer Service Centre •Staff Grooming •Face to face communication •Telephone communication •Intercom communication From the monitoring and tracking system, Management is able to see the scores, improvements of each car park, recommend solutions for improvements. Supervisors and Area Managers are able to identify each car park strengths and area of improvements and take actions in specific time frame given. The Management hope to identify Best Car Park Award for recognition of maintaining the housekeeping standards done by the Customer Service Officers.

Employees now can view the Employment Handbook via the Intranet just by logging in anytime at their workplace. This will help to save printing and paper costs.

Farewell for Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai MPIPL and KFC Malaysia in Mumbai join hand together in arranging a farewell to Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai, En. Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah. The Farewell was held at Mahesh Lunch Home,Juhu Mumbai on 23th Mar 2011. He has served for 4 years in Mumbai and will be posting to London.

The Honourable Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hj. Mohd. Yassin Visit to Mumbai The Honourable Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hj. Mohd. Yassin, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia visited Mumbai on 9th Mar 2011. In conjunction to his visit, Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai arranged a dialogue session with Malaysian Company operating in Mumbai such as MPIPL, KFC Malaysia and SCOMI. MPIPL was represented by Mr.Shasi Kumar Tirnatho, CEO and En.Norazmi Selamat on the session to exchange ideas and experiences. Meanwhile, at night we attended Dinner with The Honourable Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hj. Mohd. Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia together with other Malaysian Companies and students.

GMD visit to Mumbai Our GMD, En. Halmi Jasmin visited Mumbai Branch from 12th to 15th Mar 2011. He visited all the sites and MPIPL office.

Audit visit to Mumbai Branch Sr. Manager of Internal Audit, En. Amizi Shahrulizan Alias visited Mumbai branch from 10th to 14th Apr 2011. He visited all the sites and MPIPL office.

Development News From period month of Jan to Apr 11, MP India has secured 3 new car park contracts as follows: 1. Lake City Mall, Thane Lake City Mall is a good mall for shopping, entertainment and leisure and located in centre of Thane area. Metro Parking Services (India) Pvt.Ltd. started operations on 17th Jan 2011. 2. High Street Mall, Thane High Street Mall is a new mall and officially launched in Mar 2011. The mall is a good mall for shopping, entertainment and leisure in centre of Thane area. Metro Parking Services (India) Pvt.Ltd. started operations on 17th Jan 2011. 3. Ventura, Hiranandani Ventura building located in township of Hiranandani, Powai. The place is a good place for shopping, leisure and commercial building. Southern Region Southern Region This tournament was held at Ampang Bowl, Pelangi Leisure Mall, Johor Bahru on 19th February 2011. About 13 groups with 52 members participated in this event.

AGM SPORTS CLUB

Metro Parking‟s Sports and Recreation Club Southern Region held their 10th Annual General Meeting on 5th Januaryy 2011 at the Training Room, Admin Building and about 48 members attended the meeting.

Central Region

The purpose of the AGM was to brief the club‟s members on activities in 2011. The AGM also aim to elect new committee members for 2010/2011 Session. The meeting began with a video presentation of activities during 2010, presentation of activity reports, financial reports and speech by Gneral Manager.
