1: The Brooklyn Tabernacle choir perform during the inauguration of President Barack Obama at the Capitol yesterday. The oath was administered by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. The choir performed before the vice president made his way to the stage. It sang “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

New Yorkers spotted at the president’s inauguration The Empire State was well represented at the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. New York Sen. Chuck Schumer was the man behind all the inauguration magic. P.S. 22, a fifth-grade chorus from Staten Island, was the opening act. Brooklyn Tabernacle sang just before Biden was sworn in by Bronx-born Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor. The inaugural lunch featured wines, cheese, apple pie and water from the Empire State. One thing missing was honey from a roof in Red Hook. The apiary was knocked out by superstorm Sandy.
