TIGERS’ BEST “D” SINCE ‘08-09 • For the third time this season, the Tigers held an opponent to under 30 percent from the field in their 70-47 win over East Carolina Feb. 22. Memphis held the Pirates to 28.6 percent. • Earlier this year, the Tigers held Robert Morris (23.2 percent) and Charlotte (24.6 percent) to under 25 percent shooting from the field. • The three games holding foes to under 30 percent from the field are the most since the 200809 Tigers had six games below 30 field goal percentage defense. • Memphis also held East Carolina to under 50 points (47) in the victory, marking the fifth time this year the Tigers held a foe to under 50 points. • In addition to the East Carolina game, the Tigers allowed 45 points to Jackson State (Nov. 28), SMU (Jan. 21) and UAB (Feb. 11) and 47 to Robert Morris (Dec. 29). • The five games holding foes to under 50 points are the most since the 2008-09 Memphis squad held 11 opponents under 50. FIRST TIME SINCE ... • For the second time in Conference USA play this season, Memphis posted a 30-plus point win when it defeated UAB 79-45 Feb. 11. • The Tigers’ first 30-point win came Jan. 14 at Houston in an 89-55 victory over the Cougars. • It is the first time that Memphis posted two 30-point wins in conference play since the 2007-08 campaign. • That season, the Tigers had three 30-point victo-
