After graduating from college at Parsons School of Design in New York City where she earned a double BFA in Illustration and Animation, Tytania moved to Los Angeles and fell into modeling. “Modeling had a funny way of finding me, passing in and out of my life, and I think I instinctively resisted it, although to this day I am not so sure why,” admits Tytania. “I knew I was interested in clothes and style, and I felt uncomfortable and unimportant when I was in front of the camera. I wanted to have an artistic voice and be involved in creating the scene, not being the scene. This is more or less how I got into being a stylist. From there, I went into textiles, accessories and clothing design.”

Through modeling, Tytania formed friendships with makeup artists and photographers. During this time, she also rediscovered her love for designing, which led to her decision to design handbags. Tytania lists the late Alexander McQueen as one of her role models in fashion designing for his whimsical ideas that turned commercial and the late Coco Chanel for how she changed the way women wore clothing. She also names Burma leader Aung San Suu Kyi as an influential figure in her life. While on vacation in Thailand, Tytania says she became fascinated with the locals and their culture, including the textures and embroideries of their country. She discovered although they preserved patterns from decades prior, the pieces were woven with a poor quality of thread and fabrics. I wanted to preserve the patterns and said, “Why not develop this and turn it into
