Mack, Jack & McConaughey (MJ&M) is the joint fundraising effort of Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, ACM Award-winning recording artist Jack Ingram, and EPSN analyst and Texas coaching legend Mack Brown. MJ&M is a two day fun-filled event with music, golf and fashion benefiting organizations that reflect MJ&M’s goal to empower kids served by CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, just keep livin Foundation and The Rise School of Austin.
THROUGH MJ&M SUPPORTERS LIKE YOU... CURE DUCHENNE …CureDuchenne was able to fund a research project at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, leading to a newly discovered portion of the gene known as an IRES, which jump starts the protein production, advancing future research in Duchenne, as well as other genetic diseases. CureDuchenne and these researchers are planning a human clinical trial for this year, 2017.
DELL CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER …Dell Children’s has opened the first research study for food allergy treatment in Austin and is on track for future food allergy studies. Did you know that 1 in 13 children has a food allergy? Dell Children’s Food and Allergy Center has provided and maintained a minimum of 4 epi-pens per AISD school, as well as a nurse educator to sustain food allergy training to all personnel and with the help of MJ&M… and we can do even more.
just keep livin FOUNDATION …the just keep livin Foundation has been able to add 3 new after-school fitness and wellness programs, hire 10 new teachers and a Site Coordinator, and serve over 1000 students, just in Austin alone. Students have the opportunity to exercise, show gratitude, give back to their community, and learn healthy eating habits — all of which is possible from your generous donations.
THE RISE SCHOOL of AUSTIN …The Rise School of Austin has opened 2 new classrooms for 24 additional students and adding 6 teachers/on-site therapists. With your help, we hope to open a second Toddler for the 2017-2018 school year. Each day, Rise students receive the highest quality preschool education in an inclusive environment which allows children with and without developmental delays to learn side by side.
HEARTGIFT …HeartGift has been able to perform (locally) more than 20 lifesaving heart surgeries to children around the world where medical treatment is either scarce or nonexistent. With these funds, HeartGift covers all international travel expenses, transportation to and from medical appointments, hospital fees, medications, and all costs associated with the surgery for the child.
