Caps and gowns were once a dream Now I’m only a few steps from reality On the last day of school, when the bell rings Only a matter of time until I walk across the stage. After June 22nd I’m four years away from a degree My family and friends will be so proud of me, to see how far I’ve come. From East High to a university. A new path begins for me The last time I wore a cap and gown, I was as tall as the car of a clown now I can finally reflect on my success. Just because I’ve graduated, to college I’ve matriculated. From ignorant to sophisticated… This doesn’t mean I’ll forget where I came from Because all the pain, sadness, and struggle, has made this moment even better. Grade 12 East High School
