The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon El asesino horriblemente lento con el arma extremadamente ineficiente “Algunos asesinatos ocurren en segundos, otros duran minutos, algunos llevan horas. Pero este asesinato demora… ¡años!” La voz en off de este improbable suceso cinematográfico en forma de falso trailer no esquiva ni uno de los tópicos clásicos del género de terror, ni tampoco deja lugar a dudas: estamos frente a una comedia. Una que no perdería su gracia si revelásemos cuál es el arma extremadamente ineficiente que hace al asesino horriblemente lento... pero mejor descúbranla ustedes mismos. Al humor ácido del corto de Gale, a su trama ingeniosa y a sus gags hilarantes se les suma un deslumbrante despliegue visual. Uno de los pequeños grandes hallazgos del último año.
“Some murders are committed in seconds, others take minutes and some last hours. But this murder lasts… years!” The voice over of this false trailer tells this improbable cinematographic event using all the classic mechanisms of the horror genre, and leaves no doubts: we are watching a comedy. A comedy which would still be funny even if we revealed the extremely inefficient weapon which makes the murder so horribly slow… but it’s better if you discover it yourself. Besides its caustic humor, its ingenious plot and its hilarious gags, Gale’s short film is visually stunning. One of this year’s little big surprises.

Graduado de la UCLA con una licenciatura en literatura inglesa, Gale se dedicó a escribir y dirigir cientos de programas para la televisión por cable, como el multipremiado Earthquake Survival. En su primer largometraje, The Kidnapping, se desempeñó como director, productor, director de fotografía y montajista. En 2001, coescribió y dirigió The Proposal, al que siguieron el thriller de suspenso Pressure (2002) e It’s a Wonderful City, una parodia del clásico de Frank Capra Qué bello es vivir. Graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in English Literature, Gale went on to write and direct hundreds of shows for cable TV, like the award-winning Earthquake Survival. He wrote, directed and produced his first feature, The Kidnapping, in which he also worked as cinematographer and editor. In 2001, he co-wrote and directed The Proposal, followed by the thriller Pressure (2002) and It’s a Wonderful City, a parody of Frank Capra’s classic It’s a Wonderful Life.
