Dear Alumni Family,
I hope you and your loved ones are staying well and that you dedicate some time to relax and rejuventate this summer.
I invite you to take a look through our recently-published, 2021 Alumni Report. In it you will find out how the Alumni Relations pivoted this past year to organize successful virtual events; what they're doing to improve diversity and equity, digital engagement and professional development; spotlights on our alumni and much more.
In June we celebrated the prolific career of a dear friend and the heart of the Fireball Family, Carm Vespi, Manager, Alumni Relations. Carm was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award from McMaster's 2020 President’s Awards for Outstanding Service.
Carm has dedicated her career, spanning over 45 years, to building the portfolio of student and alumni engagement and outreach programs at McMaster Engineering. She also launched Venture Academy, a program that engages
young people in STEM. This is a prestigious and well-deserved accomplishment.
I also want to congratulate our new 2021 graduates who celebrated their virtual convocation ceremony on June 18 and their virtual Kipling ceremonies on March 26th. I am happy to welcome our new grads to the alumni family and I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
Best Wishes, Ishwar K. Puri, Dean

Virtual Kipling Ceremonies for 2021 Graduates
March 26 - As Covid-19 has made the traditional Kipling ceremony incredibly difficult to execute on a large scale, the 2021 Kipling class was kipled on Friday, March 26th. Four different virtual ceremonies were offered to students during the day. We were so happy to be able to find a means with which students can receive their iron ring, and we could all celebrate together safely. Congratulations class of 2021!
