Dear friends and supporters, We began the 2019-20 academic year, eagerly anticipating the completion of our South Omaha Campus renovation and expansion project, advancing the promise we made to our students and our community to develop the workforce of tomorrow. With the promise of a new Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a new Automotive Training Center and a comprehensive Veterans Center, our September 2019 groundbreaking was a celebration filled with optimism and opportunity.

Although events in 2020 took surprising turns, our mission statement remained our steadfast guide: to deliver relevant, student-centered education to a diverse community of learners. These words provide a clear path forward, no matter what the circumstances, and they take on special meaning when the need is so abundantly clear. Your partnership is evidence that hope, understanding and opportunity abide.
There is no question that success in 2019-20 looks different than it did in 2018-19. In March, the College adapted to new public health conditions, Scott Irwin quickly adjusting to remote work and learning. Likewise, we found new ways to help students manage through the disruption by providing emergency aid, laptops, or supportive guidance. We proved to one another that we can move mountains when we put our minds to it. Though it may not have felt like it, making those nimble adjustments was most definitely a success, and we couldn’t have made these transitions without your support. This annual report of the Metropolitan Community College Foundation is more than just a listing of our financials, it demonstrates how you made a meaningful difference in the lives of our diverse community of learners.
