Dear Friends and Supporters,

Metropolitan Community College’s mission is to deliver relevant, student-centered education to a diverse community of learners.

This simple statement reflects the College’s deep commitment to bringing meaningful educational opportunities to all who wish to participate. Many come to us seeking degrees, while others simply want to take a course or two to build their skillsets. Some are fresh out of high school; some are returning after years away from formal education. Some may be on the front end of their career journeys, while others may be enriching their retirement years with lifelong learning. No matter their “why,” MCC is here to provide the “how.”

In recent years, the College has launched Path Forward, a mission-driven, multi-year collegewide improvement effort, with a goal to make success the default for students. We are already seeing the impact of this effort. For instance, credit-seeking students are now selecting their paths from one of seven Academic Focus Areas (AFA), to help us better understand their “whys.” Within their chosen AFA, students will benefit from wrap-around career experiences and supports throughout their journeys. This framework is part of Path Forward, whereby we listen to our students’ experiences, collaboratively examine our systems and processes, and create systemic change for students. This ongoing, iterative approach helps us meet our mission for all.

Our commitment is strengthened by our community’s investment. This annual report will highlight the important role your generosity plays in supporting students as they choose their paths, stay on them, and complete their educational goals.

While staff and faculty are pleased with the progress in many areas — such as the diversity among students served by Enrollment Navigators, employment outcomes of students in the Career Placement Program, and expanded support of math and literacy instruction — MCC seeks to continually strengthen its impact.

Such important educational transformations would not be possible without you. As a result, this annual report of the MCC Foundation is more than a financial report — it is a reflection of the community’s investment and trust in the College, two elements of success for which we are truly grateful.

Thank you for partnership in our past achievements and future milestones.

Sincerely,

Randy Schmailzl President, MCC Josh Bartee President, MCC Foundation Josh Bartee Randy Schmailzl Amy Recker Amy Recker Executive Director, MCC Foundation
