After two years of backing up 2011 All-America tight end Justin Aldredge, Nims takes over the starting role this season … a physical blocker and agile running with the ball, he has displayed good hands. 2011 Season: Played in 10 games and received a start against SMU… finished the season with four receptions and 29 yards with one touchdown… his one touchdown came against Nicholls on a 2-yard catch at the back of the end zone... had a 17-yard catch against Lamar to set up a John Shaughnessy field goal. 2010 Season: Made one catch for four yards and played in nine games. High School: Honorable mention Class 4A All-State tight end, first-team All-District, second-team All-Acadiana as a senior ... caught seven passes for 89 yards on a 7-4 playoff team under coach Jim Hightower ... had 21 pancake blocks as STM won the district title ... was a second-team All-District baseball player as a junior for coach Gary Perkins as a junior while earning his third letter in that sport ... helped football team reach state semifinals in his freshman year and the regional round the next two seasons. Has been a key in the secondary for three years, with five starts in 32 games … is the Demons’ top nickel back and has a physical style of defense. 2011 Season: His 12 pass breakups topped the Demons … saw action in all 11 games and had one start against Lamar… had a total of 28 tackles … 17 of those were solo and included a half tackle for loss… had a season-high seven tackles against Southeastern Louisiana and four games with five tackles in each of them… against Nicholls he had one interception… finished the season with four quarterback hurries. 2010 Season: Sixth on the team with 58 tackles, 41 of those solos... played in 10 games making three starts... had 1.5 tackles for a loss... six pass breakups and two quarterback hurries... did not have an interception but scored on a 58-yard run down the NSU sideline following a lateral after an interception by teammate Jamaal White against Southeastern Louisiana... made a career-high 10 stops against Samford. 2009 Season: Gathered 50 tackles on the season, which ranked fifth on the team… collected 10 tackles against Stephen F. Austin… eight tackles versus Sam Houston…seven tackles at Houston including one tackle for a loss of 11 yards… seven tackles at Baylor… six tackles against Southeastern… tied for second on team with four broken up passes.
