CHRIS WADDELL MEMORIAL AWARD

The Chris Waddell Memorial Award is presented to the walk-on player who best exemplifies the same characteristics required of the Latino Award. The award pays tribute to Waddell, a walk-on redshirt freshman offensive lineman who died in March 2004 just before the beginning of spring practice due to a heart condition.

This logo is on the field at Turpin Stadium in the location where Chris Waddell last stood before being fatally striken due to a rare heart condition on the day before spring practice, March 1, 2004. Each year on that day, the Demons perform community service projects in his honor. Former Associate SID Matthew Bonnette created the logo.
